No Option To Turn Off Auto-Fire

I have always played with Auto-Fire OFF, then with this new Feature suddenly Auto-Fire is ON when I log in. So I turn it OFF. Then I enter the feature mission and its all back on again. I have been through the Options and can't find where the option is to turn it off FOR GOOD. I do not want stupid Auto-Fire on shooting everything I target. This is not how I play. Can someone let me know where this dang option is or why there isn't one?

    It's in the options to turn it off.

    However in the new mission it has to be on, you cannot disable it there for some reason.

    Thanks for the clarifications. This makes no sense then. It should be mentioned somewhere as a footnote. It's a bad warship that fires without orders...

    Kirk: Lock phasers on target, but hold your fire.

    I was also very confused, for me it was worse since when I disabled autofire.. My gameplay was like normal again, but when I played the new mission it just bugged out.

    But yeah, you NEED autofire on that mission.

    You can disable it in the options, so it's like the good old days on your normal ship though!
