What's wrong with the Borg stuff

I want the M.A.C.O. stuff so I joined the borg red alerts and other stuff that give out points to buy Borg gear,I lost the term how they called it.
But anyways, I fight one I get purple a lot off points 100/130 omega second to all others I only get blue 50/60.
Until next day 12 ours ahead I get 1 purple the rest blue. at this rate it takes who knows how long to get the gear let alone the Borg ship gear.
Anyone noticed this is it a bug or did devs this on purpose ?

P.S. Before some of you might want to start flaming me, it's just a question nothing more then that. Thank You....

You get a daily marks bonus every day for your first earned marks of each type. Say you play borg red alert three times a day and select omega marks each time. Well, you'll get a daily bonus of 55 marks the first time you select omega marks. The daily bonus will come back, you guessed it, the next day.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

You can also see the time left until you can get the bonus reward again by pressing the "view cooldowns" button in the PvE queue UI (on the PC version at least). That said reps do take time and that's working as intended. The blue version is the standard reward and purple version is the standard+55 extra.

That said there's no limit as to how many times per day you gain the standard reward (other then the limit of queues that reward those marks, the Omega Marks in this case) so my advice to is to do as many queues that reward omega marks as you got time and remember you can do the same queue more then once per day you just won't get the bonus.

You're probably better off doing an Infected Space Advanced run once or twice a day as the first queue.

Depending on how many optionals get done you can get well over 100 marks. Oh and of course the components you'll need too. Though you get 10 just for completing the rep of course.

It'll still take a while to do though as that's how it's set up.

you need to do the borg battleground... but what borg gear are you looking to get anyway... all that is old and dated. the newer rep has "better" stuff.

MACO gear is still viable even today. Hell... even just having the armor and shield on the ground works. You get the clicky shield capacitor power.

While the older sets do need a bit of love compared to some of the newer sets... the older sets, like MACO, are still viable even today.

Viable... means to make do... settle for not even 2nd best. Not saying you shouldnt get any of it... but you don't really need that many marks or elite marks... depending on how much time you invest and if you can find some good groups to do the areas. Can finish in a week if you limit yourself to the must have items and forgo the getting everything.

As I recall... 2 ground armor sets and 3 space sets & space weapon set. Am I missing something? Your not actually saying they should get the full space sets for the set bonus are you? I can see the armor sets... once each for the BO just for the buff.

On another hand, you don't need the very best to enjoy endgame in STO. If you feel like MACO'in your toon, you'll do fine in most queues as long as you upgrade the gear to a decent level.

The shield clicky is indeed quite handy.

I actually never bothered with the MACO space set until I was pondering what gear to give one of my Delta recruits. I was like "what to do with all these Borg rep thingies? Well I could use a space gear set..." then BOOM! Full MACO space set. Heavy Graviton Beam is not exactly OP, but useful.

I only want the M.A.C.O. ground set for starters and I have my Dominion Space set that's more then good, also used M.A.C.O. ground set Mk XIV on my main char and he kicks TRIBBLE every day on the ground. every new story they come up with my Main char is in the fight, and kick alien buts ;-) So I don't understand people saying it's out of date. but I wonder how it is possible when doing Advanced STF's you only get blue 55 omega per round. That wasn't a 6 months ago when I put up my other Alt with M.A.C.O. gear....

A Khitomer Vortex Advanced that's done successfully with all optionals and a reputation mark boost going will award 168 Omega marks the first time it is ran each day. A Tzenkethi Red Alert with the same boost going, will award 120 with both satellites kept operational. Infected Conduit Advanced will award about 135 with aforementioned reputation marks boost, with all optionals successfully met. Borg Red Alert will award around 78 or so. Keep in mind, these are the numbers for the first Borg mark package each day. If you do the Khitomer Vortex Advanced and grab that 168, that means that the others are reduced in mark rewards.

In order for you to get around 55 per Advanced STF, that includes you failing optionals. Each failed optional drops the end reward. And these reward numbers have been in effect for much longer than half a year.

    It's all down to mindset.

Technically there's better stuff available now, this much is largely true. To some people, mathematically better is what matters - "why do it at all if you don't do it well" is often the train of thought.

But that's not the only way to think about it. To some people, what they find enjoyable matters more than the hard numbers. Since MACO is still an okay set, absolutely sufficient to get you through whatever normal and/or advanced content you want to play, then there's no reason you can't use it if it's what you prefer. You just won't be as powerful as Johnny McMinmaxer.

This is normal. After the first content in a rep you get in one 20h cycle, you receive a penalty of 55 marks for every subsequent attempt to do that kind of content again, downgrading your reward from purple to blue as you saw.

Don't do content in a rep more than once per day or you will be penalized for it.

Wow, something so wrong in so many ways almost deserves a special award.

Once a day you get 1 extra bonus mark package per mark. You're not being penetalized for playing specific content, you're given the chance to grab some extra marks for playing different content at least once a day.

Half full or half empty, the glass is the same either way.

The Borg stuff is not outdated, in my opinion. The Klingon Honour Guard/Adapted MACO Set is great for Torpedo Boats with its +25% Torpedo Damage passive. The Borg Set's Tractor and Cutting Beam are fun as well, and has a pretty good Shield Regen.
