Any Lobi or Lockbox ship should have a custom Bridge, PERIOD. Just the Bridge, not the rest of the interiors like the Voyager, Constitution, and Galaxy Bridge Packs.

With that said, 900 Lobi ships should absolutely have a unique bridge.

Lobi and Lockbox ships that come from existing Star Trek and are "Hero" ships should all get their 'show' Bridges . I also think the NX-01 should have at least had a ENT era Bridge done for it a well. But yeah, they (Cryptic management) devote Dev time to what they feel is going to net them the best ROI - and interiors and Bridges just don't for a variety of reasons that have been stated.

It's as false as the people selling an item for $6,000,000 and then wondering why they make almost no sales. If you price something ridiculously then you aren't going to make sales. They price bridge packs ridiculously and then use that as a reason why they can't make any more. It's a self fulfilling prophecy and one they created themselves so they don't have to do the work.

You should research old foum posts from @tacofangs and other Devs who have commented on this. Designing and building bridges/interiors is a lot more work than some people would lead you to believe.

Also, your supposition doesn't make any sense. You're essentially saying that Cryptic invested the time and funds into developing bridges, then priced them so high that no one would ever buy them. They aren't that stupid. Why would they not want to make money and get a return on their investment?

I agree with @crypticarmsman - if bridges and interiors sold really well, they would continue adding them into the game.

With that said, 900 Lobi ships should absolutely have a unique bridge.

They are more work, yes. However, until the NX Refit was released Lockbox and Lobi ships were treated as premium items that included the appropriate bridge, even if it wasn't being used elsewhere. Not getting an NX bridge was a major disappointment for me, and not having either the Discovery or Shenzou bridge removes any desire I had for a Walker class.

Think about this, when the Kelvin lockbox came out both the JJPrise and the Vengeance recieved their bridge from the movies. Sure, the JJPrise bridge was used in a mission, but the Vengeance bridge was not, and likely never will be. STO also reportedly had one of it's most profitable years when this happened. So why did they suddenly remove this perk, first with the NX and now with the Discovery and Shenzhou?

Remember that c-store ships don't come with a (even purchasable) bridge any more either. Allied escorts/assault cruisers, miracle worker and other releases can't even access all bridges.

Any more? Bridges for C-Store ships has "never" been a Standard feature to begin with. Whereas premium Lockbox ships have had them as a standard feature and selling point from the very beginning and all through the years until recently.
Like I said earlier, this represent a serious drop in quality and value for lockbox ships.

I must admit, having acquired both the walker & crossfield, I was surprised no unique interiors were created...

Having said that, I am not worried. Cryptic does listen. I have hounded for the wrath of khan and undiscovered country weaps as well as t6 connie + reskin and we got them.

If demand is there, our devs are gonna come through. Also, Discovery is brand new- been out less than a year and we already are being dripped content!
It's a foregone conclusion we will get our discovery bridges so calm down...

I was telling a fellow dsc fan in game that its still worth getting the ships as when cryptic finally releases unique bridges our ships will likely unlock them.

As an aside, I am not usually a fan of the miranda style saucer & nacelles design but the Walker is truly an amazing ship. I have been enjoying both dsc ships. Great stats and well balanced- and the devs got the phasers from dsc RIGHT ON!!!

Ps: try to remember we had no accurate defiant or voyager interiors for YEARS. Same with tos connie... Discovery's spore drive opens up both parallel universes & time travel- it's just a matter of time before a Discovery story in game that brings us our bridge packs.

I'm guessing since CBS didn't put TRIBBLE on regular TV (save one episode) and made it exclusive to their online streaming service this is a way to "advertise" the show. They may not be enjoying the numbers they were hoping to see on their streaming service and this was a way to get word of the show out there more without giving up the streaming setup.

Fairly certain Discovery is doing very well for CBS and All Access....

‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Almost Doubled CBS All Access Mobile Subscription Revenue

‘Star Trek Discovery’ Fuels Record Signups For CBS All Access

CBS: All Access Subscriber Growth up 200 Percent YoY

I'm fairly certain you could have positive growth like that and it still wouldn't be enough for some people. That's why you hear of movies making a lot of money but it wasn't to expectations and considered a bit of a disappointment from the way they report things.

Also Discovery ships came right out with little hemming and hawing you see with the other shows ships. They're trying to drum their service more.

Um, if they weren't getting the streaming service sub numbers they were expecting (or better - and this goes for CBSAA in the U.S> and Netflix everywhere else - except Canada); ST: D wouldn't have been renewed for a second season. At a reported production cost of $8 million per episode on average, they wouldn't renew if if wasn't meeting or exceeding expectations in that regard.

Well, no. They're striking while the iron is hot. Like it or not, Discovery is a success for the franchise and I don't blame Cryptic/PWE/CBS for wanting to cash in on it. Kudos for them and here's to hoping it helps keep the game running for another 8 years or more.

And that's what makes it so puzzling why Cryptic would do a half-assed release of Discovery ships like this rather than fully cashing in on the hype.

this is the funny thing neither bridge is that different so using one model to create both could cut the development time in half as some assets could be reuseed.

That's because for the show - BOTH Bridges used the same filming set - they just dress it differently.
