Well I'm in the minority here but I dislike the Paladin because of the design and the boff setup, I would rather use the Arbiter. The Paladin looks like a pancake with nacelles attached.
Minority or not, it's your opinion. And I agree that the Paladin is rather flat, but I still like it. I don't expect everyone to like it, I just know what I like.
I also know that many people despise the Scryer, but I like it too and am saving up Arc points on my F2P character so she can get one. Gonna take a long time, but can't afford to buy zen and don't have much dil to trade, so it's Arc points. It'll still work out though, cause I can't play the game till I get another desktop. The laptop will do for events, but not normal gameplay.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything.

Ah, the Ouroborus..that's the one that looks like a wheelbarrow. Yes I think it's ugly, but it doesn't mean I won't fly it if one of my captains wants one.

If I could only fly one ship ever again it would be the Arbiter (fleet variant). It has it all, massive dps, decent tank, decent agility, amazing trait, good BOFF seating. Really good all rounder.
There are other niche ships which do their own specific job better, but they are specialised into single fields and are not so much of an all rounder.

Yeah I bought the Temporal Agent Starter Pack for the 0718 Boff, didn't expect to make much use at all of the Paladin but decided I'd give it a cruise on my AoY toon. It quickly became one of my favorite ships, I even shelled out for the Ranger just so I could use the TOS style skin.
great point, I did the exact same thing with the purchase during the discount. I haven't played with the cruiser much yet as I am fully kitting it out in temporal defence fittings from the rep store and waiting for the next upgrade weekend to max them out. I love the ranger skin and would jump at it but its a hefty price tag for just an extra skin to be honest....even if I do prefer it to the paladins one....those nacelles....ehhhewww!

No, the Ouroboros is the raider from the 31st Century ship pack. What you are thinking of is the Nautilus and I personally like the look of that one, it was supposed to look similar to the actual Nautilus creature. The nautilus is the only one of the temporal ships (not including the 31st ships) which I actually like the look of.
I was thinking about buying the Temporal Agent Starter Pack to get the Paladin inexpensively for my AoY character. I do not really like the design of any of the Temporal ships, but I thought what the hell... Well, I ended up not buying it.
My AoY character is focused on using disruptors. The Paladin console favors phasers so it was of no use. Additionally, the ship trait is rather meh in my opinion. So there was nothing outstanding about it except for the 2,000 Zen (or less at the time when it as on sale and I was considering it) it would cost to get the ship. So... ummm... yeah, I decided to pass.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. Still, it always looks like to me that it's flying sideways. Still, I may one day buy it and try it out.

Preference and not liking something doesn't mean that one is incapable of thinking outside the box.
Agreed, I usually fly my Paladin as a Ranger. Good ship generally

I don't like the look of the Paladin or any of the 31st ships either but they do what they do exceptionally well. Practicality wins through for me. Though the Paladin has a throwaway console.
Only if you are a fanboi/gurl who likes these hideous things from the 60s because your so old that your brain addled...and are okay with mediocre stats to boot. Oh and you have zero skills at games...because you can do all the normal content in this game in the T1 version for 5 bucks. There are plenty of reasons to use other ships...many of which for people with eyes will look better even. As for stats...yeah definately reasons there to use something else. Please stop projecting your desires on other people. Yes, if they like how this ship looks as much as you, fine, it's an option for them to get based on looks...but what you like the looks of and what he likes without further input is most likely not the same. And to suggest that ship as the one and only ship based on stats is laughable...at best.
without TOS there was no TNG, VOY DS9 or the abominations of JJtrek and Discovery.
TOS is the benchmark which allows everything else to look good.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
So giving somebody the advice of get a ToS connie because it's mechanically meh, but because I think it is awesomesauce is you being a terrible person...and I will mock you for that.
Mechanically, it works pretty damned good. Moves pretty well, can take a beating, nice 'n small, and the built in weapon that can give one buffs, it's pretty damned good if one is lucky enough to get one. The T6 TOS ships from the AoY packs are jsut as good as well. And for looks....they ARE "Awesome Sauce" as you aptly put it. Both their TOS and Drexler style skins.
For I shall give the nearest Connie a hug
And if thou shalt mock me, then:

And as folks say.....without TOS, none of the others would have come. And some of us LOVE TOS and it's TOS goodness.
Like others said, the Ranger/Paladin's not bad at all. That molecular beam things is pretty useful, great when in a jam.
I bought the command battlecruiser pack and that has provided my ship of choice for the most part.
I prefer the Geneva as the base but mix-and match the variations to make my own custom ship in terms of looks. Another advantage here... Three different skin choices for each part of the ship so you can really tailor the look while choosing the best BOFF setup for yourself.
I have a Kelvin timeline heavy command cruiser sitting in waiting, though, and have considered buying the reliant advanced light cruiser.
It's looking like my AoY Captain will be my new main and so they will probably get the Kelvin Cruiser. I'll give it a good tryout and decide if I like it more than the command battlecruisers.
My recommendation for a Federation Cruiser (assuming T6) will always be the Yorktown Class aka Science Star Cruiser: It's a very versatile all-round ship, and IMO its console layout is geared more toward Engineering than Science...
I have the Kelvin Dreadnought, and it's pretty good. I also have the Kelvin Heavy Command Cruiser, and TBH, I found it boring and generally not-fun to fly, and put the character back in a Mirror Patrol Escort... Purely my own observations, YMMV

My main toon ~points down to banner~ has it, and yes...I don't need another ship for this toon.

What is your beef about us TOS fans? It's like we're lepers or something.
yes you will, enough to grind the right traits...
