We're all being disconnected fairly regularly this evening since the maintenance, being on Discord we know it's affecting folks from all over the world at the same time, I also see a shed load leaving the room in pidgin. Any problems Cryptic, hope it's not going to stay like this over the holidays.

I'm in the UK and I've been getting them all day with dc's, although once dc'ed I can log immediately back in. Starting to TRIBBLE me off as I don't usually get this. Reddit Chat has had people posting all day about experiencing SNR and dc's to,
Edit this was occurring before and after maintenance
Hello rubber banding my old friend, time to bounce around the battlezone again, where are all my bug reports going?, out of love with this game I am falling, As Cryptic fail to acknowledge a problem exists, Shakes an angry fist, And from Support all I'm hearing are the sounds of silence.
Yup I had lots of disconnections yesterday evening, and it was ridiculous. It was so bad that I first thought it was my internet provider. I did a speedtest and all was good. I reset the modem, tried loading other games and everything was fine. I came back to STO and it was kicking me out after 10-15 seconds, then it refused to load my characters after logging in. After an hour, I managed to stay logged in long enough to get the Daily race done, and to get my free lockbox at Drozana.
I would like to know what has happpened. When I perform maintenance on my girlfriends car, the wheels stay on and the engine doesn't blow up afterwards, so why is it when STO performs mainenance does everything become broken?

This probably is more to do with high traffic or localised weather (been a large solar flare too) than maintenance. However, seeing as only a small amount of people are reporting it, it sounds like an ISP issue than a server issue.

I had problems logging my FTP acct in last night. Took me three tries before I could get her in. It would d/c me before I could get to the character screen. Finally got in on the third try. I figured it was this terrible laptop, but now it could have been the server.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything.

Did you read my OP? How can it be localised weather or ISP when I said it was affecting folks from "all over the world at the same time"?
And I'm in the UK and only experienced it once in 6 hours last night.

Just a count. Since 5pm till 1am GMT, 1 SNR and 2 disconnects, but the lack of rubber-banding is confusing if this is a server issue.

I have noticed an increase in SNRs. And as I am usually in a Discord server talking with some friends who also play... seems to hit some people at the same time while others are spared.
I only log on early mornings to do my Fastest Game on Ice runs and have not been hit with any since the other day. I will be glad when I get my computer back, but looks like I'll be stuck with this terrible laptop the whole WW, and probably part of the Anniversary too.
Oh well, crying won't fix it or make it come any faster. I really hope you guys stop getting booted so much.

Every year, it's the same thing. Holiday season creates a spike in demand and the service can't keep up with the initial spike, which ends up with them (Usually Cogent, not even in-house to Cryptic) taking their sweet time adjusting to the increased load. The result is SNR's and Disconnects, but it's not actually Cryptic's fault.
That's what I was getting at earlier. Alot of providers use 'intelligent' traffic management, but this won't account for spikes in demand, especially if a company has limited band-width purchased. Those of us that have been playing years are well aware of how shody Cogent's traffic management is.
