you're only paying for it in ornaments so it's not exactly like you're out alot of resources to get the warp core. as for the breen supercooled set, it's a free set you get from doing missions in the breen arc. why not actually get it and round out the set?

I use it all the time when the set I'm using doesn't have a warp core. and I like the breen sets anyway.

if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.

yes, worth getting to complete the Breen set. and it only costs a bunch of holiday stuff, so it's pretty much "free"/

    also

No, there are much better cores out there. Better off using the Breen 3-piece and a fleet core or something. Unless you *really* need Cryoplasma. But, then again, may as well get it and try it.

There is no reason not to get it as it's free, but being free it's of course not one of the "best" ones

    It's a solid set for your shuttle/fighter.

All my characters use the Breen set on their small craft.

I'd never really looking into the set before, as I didn't like how the vanity shield made the [Starfleet]ships look (I thought they looked more like Breen-copies of Starfleet ships, which never 'sat quite right' with me) However, my Orion slaver has the Corsair, which uses the shield in the visuals slot, as I think it makes a nice difference to the standard skin. The ship has the Tzenkethi set, but because I'm not overly impressed with the effect of the shield capacitor (and because the hull and shields are already pretty resilient, it's a bit redundant on this build) I wondered if the weapons capacitor provided by the cryopoasma warp core, may offer something more worthwhile to the build :sunglasses:

the visual is SUPPOSED to make your ship look Breen. :p It's like how the Borg shield make it look Borg, and the Delta one makes it the same mud brown as Vaadwaur ships.

The Breen weapon capacitor is a weird one. It gives +40 but also slightly reduces power to other systems.

I don't find it all that useful, and the Breen set is all over the place in terms of what it buffs so of little use personally.

But as others have said it costs a few trinkets to buy so not gonna break the bank.

Well I know it's SUPPOSED to make them look like that, but I don't like how it makes them (Starfleet) look like knock-offs  I'm keen to see how the shield makes my KDF science officer's raptor, and as mentioned, I like the effect on the Corsair :sunglasses:

I might have to risk that reduction in other systems... The ship isn't exactly maneuverable anyway, and the hull is pretty durable in its own right, so I think the boost to the weapons (phaser turrets) may be worth the dip in the other systems :sunglasses:

Which is easy to get by doing these Breen missions.

I'm not a DPS min-maxer so for me it's fun to set up a Breen ship with the Breen consoles and space set. The carrier in particular is a great science carrier and this adds more to the space magic (of the holidays!)

By the end of the winter event you'll have so many ornaments, it won't really be a cost to consider not getting it.

I'm pretty much done with the winter event (other than the race for the ship tokens) as I've bought everything I wanted from the vendor :sunglasses:

Some people like theme based builds. Having the Breen Warp Core helps this.

The set bonuses are really terrible and the stats on the set pieces themselves are meh~ underwhelming. The only good thing about that set is the visuals from the impulse engines and the shield. The problem with the set is that it's really old and there are much better options available.

It is an old set. But to someone who isn't maxxed out across 52 chars or hasn't been playing as long as I have, it ain't that bad. I use it on last year's Winter Event ship. Which I have set up as a Drain boat. Not ever gonna be atop the DPS League leaderboards with it, but I can turn out the lights on most NPCs with one or two shots. And I'll admit the game is bit more fun for me whenever the gear I'm using doesn't do everything for me.

That's true, there're definitely better options available, I just wondered if you had a particular reason for being so set against the set :sunglasses:

Absolutely so, I found this the other day taking a T1 Miranda into encounters with the Sol Defence set, Spiral Wave Disruptors, Kelvin Timeline photon torpedoes, and some other fleet gear: Made for a nice challenge, rather than a cake-walk, and thus more enjoyable :sunglasses:

You can get similar low level cores cheaply on the exchange and buy winter event doodads on the exchange - compare prices and makes yer choice.

When i created my 1st federation engineer (i am a romulan player 99%), i gave him the rezreth breen dreadnought. So i said: "let's go all breen set".
I tried it...and not a strong set at all.
When i switched to iconian and terran set...much much better!

About the warp core, well...we may get it to complete the set...but there are far better things out there, even for free (the tzenkethi core from preeminent set for example).

which is funny cause I have a tradition of running the delta stuff in a breen carrier with both breen sets and to this day I have no idea what all the noise about the stuff being too hard or taking too long was about.

Some people's favorite builds... have weaknesses the devs ruthlessly exploited when designing the Vaadwaur enemies :p
