Bat'leth / Mek'leth not upgradeable.

hugin1205hugin1205 Member Posts: 489 Arc User
Only the green Nanopulse Bat'leth is upgradeable, the other colours are not - and neither is the Mek'leth. Therefore they are not worth getting.

Funny that the green one is and the others aren't - if neither were, I'd say WAI, but as it is, I think it's not.

I tried to upgrade the Mek'leth to purple quality.
See here for my complete inability to do so:

I had been intending to use this as my primary melee weapon for one of my characters, but considering it is upgrade locked, I tossed it back into storage and intend to ignore it until I can upgrade it.

    same here.
btw - I did Report this already one year ago (not the Mek'leth, but Bat'leths), but I guess Devs considered it Klingon back then and will put it on the "known issue" list in about 7 years.

Should someone also report the Mek'leth? Or maybe all of the weapons individually?
  • hugin1205hugin1205 Member Posts: 489 Arc User
you can alwways Report it ingame - but None of the Reports I handed in seemed to have been aknowledged - or I seem to have a knack of reporting Things that no one cares about (like having to manually Claim all ships to get admirality Card - considering I have 18 toons and tons of ships, it takes about one hour per toon - and I am not the only Player with that Problem. I guess devs should have been able to write a script in under 18 hours)

How're you getting an upgrade option for the green Bat'leth? Mine is just as un-upgradeable as all the others.

No, you're definitely not the only player with that problem because everyone has that problem. You have to have the ship on your person at some point to get an Admiralty card for it. That's how it was designed. Annoying and time-consuming, but not a bug.

The initial Admiralty blog. Of note: " It does not include starships still inside Reward Packs, or those not yet claimed."
This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.

There are two kinds of nanopulse weapons. The original bat'leths and lirpas are upgradeable. These were available until last year's QWW. Any of them I've purchased both last year and this year are not and do not go to MK XII when I place them in the Upgrade window. The purple colored ones are also no longer available, either. I've no idea why this was done.

I've had my green Bat'leth and Lirpa since 2013-2014 and, as said above, they're not upgradable.

Why in the hell aren't they upgradable? What, then, is the point of them in the first place? Other than appearance, there's nothing special about these items that would make upgrades OP or pointless.

    Once again...seconding this finding.

Be more than happy to show either or both of you my MK XIV Purple Nanopulse bat'leth ingame anytime you'd like to see it.

Once in a while I do happen to know what I am talking about.

EDIT: Why not post pics here? Pics can be Photoshopped. I doubt either of you will take me up on my offer. Requires effort and interaction with another human being to do so. Which contravenes the entire purpose of the InterWebs, don't it?

I did file an additional report via the support page and it was acknowledged.
But the response is confusing, it reads like I was asking them to modify the stats of the item and really, I was asking that the Upgrade item code be verified or adjusted to make it useable for this item.

We are the ones who upgrade the stats.
Or we should be if the option worked.......

So...what you are saying is the purple ones are upgradable.

Since I don't have one of those, I'll take your word on that one. But I have a old green one that is just as not upgradable as my newer green ones.

Stop. Just stop. Why would only the Purple one be Upgradeable? Is being right about this so very important to you that it will collapse the world as you know it unless you are?

    Unbelievable.

But I really should thank you. For reminding me once again why I ought to stop bothering with these forums.

How old is the green ones? Because my oldest is from 2013/14 and I can't upgrade it...which according to thunderfoot should be. Like how does it have to be to be upgradable?

Sorry, don't remember when I got it, but I think is from 2015, it wasn't the first one they released, I think I got it in that year, same for the purple one.. honestly, i got them for the novelty, never used them..

So, if they are not upgradable, then the aren't really anything but vanity items. They are worthless as weapons.

Yeah, probably but I am still using my Mek'leth because the animation looks cool....I will switch to pistols when I get bored with trying to kill something with a Green rank sword (that should be a dagger).

I'm not certain, but isn't a Mek'leth more like a Mabele in terms of fighting style?
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CH7NKimmtnw

Slashing and curving blows close in rather then wide sweeping strikes?
Not that I know from testing it ingame, I didn't try to use it after I discovered the upgrade inability.

Green Bat'leth & Lirpa, aquired alongside the Breen Chel Grett Warship (or the Breen Sarr Theln Carrier, one of the two). No upgrade option. 'Drag-and-Dop' uinto the upgrade box doesn't work, either.

    Good news for the Mek'lethers!

Hopefully this version will be upgradeable.
As soon as I get it, that green mock'leth is going to be deleted......

That is from week 4 of Scylla and Charybdis mission.
