Rook's "Let's Talk" About the New Winter Ship - 2017

The year is almost at an end, Winter quickly approaching. Rook is proud to hold a Let's Talk(TM) discussion about the 2017 Winter ship. Everyone is encouraged to participate in this discussion!

I'll start. I don't know what the ship will be yet, but I hope it has a tactical Admiralty card!

The ship is the terrifying Breen Plesh Tral Heavy Raider [T6]! How cool is that!

    It's gonna be a T6 breen raider, the admiratly card will be tac 50-60 and both sci & eng 30-40. The unknowns are the spec seat and the new design.

    The real big question is gonna be winter 2018. Now that we're out of breen ships to uplift cryptic needs to think of something.

    The only other species would be the Andorians/and or Aenar, but giving how the Aenar are a reclusive race, it shouldn't be them.

    I do really hope we don't get a Breen ship next year. They're not very pretty to look at, and we need some variety desperately from the claw ships the Breen are so fond of using.

    As for what would replace them... I haven't the faintest idea. Andorians are already in the C-Store, and any T6 versions of their ships would almost certainly be added there. Victory is Life would be out by then though, so maybe there's an idea hidden in that?

    It can't be Andorians because of the FED only escorts already in service. Meanwhile the Aenar are pasifists and to build weapons of war would be a complete contridiction of their values.

    Maybe Snorg, Snowconian and Kramp’lhri ships in 2018? :D

    I think it will be a T6 Breen Raider too. We had a T6 version of the Chell Grett last year, so its a logical progression.

    I imagine that it will keep the flanking bonus its T5 counterpart has, and that it will have pilot bridge officer specialization seating. I sadly doubt they will give it the actual pilot moves - those are usually the preserve of certain C-Store and lockbox ships.

    Hoping for a Tac admiralty card too - every little helps!

    If it was a Snowconian ship I'd actually login regularly just to nab it. That would be a neat comedy ship.

    It's a Snow Borg Ice Cube. It's twice the size of ESD, has 10 million hitpoints, 10 of all consoles slots including universal, +100 all power levels, gives the starship trait When Pigs Fly that gives you a million DPS regardless of how much your build sucks, and comes with the Console - Universal - Hell Freezes Over that instantly wins the game and gives you 10 million refined dilithium on all toons.

    Well I thought I read in a dev post that this year Console and PC users will be receiving the same event prize "for the first time" And thought Console was behind on event ships? Makes me wonder if theyre just rehashing a previous ship so that console can catch up, and will do the T6 raider next year. Would annoy PC players for sure, Personally Id love hughs flagship but thats like a 0.0001% chance of any borg ship ever.

    Andorian also wouldnt work because they are a federation race and despite how much the devs might dislike the klinks I don't think they'd go so far as to faction lock an event ship.

    That said, the krapmus boss makes me think they might look into tweaking fekhiri designs although that may well mean the final nail in the coffin for ever seeing a t6 kar'fi.

    I doubt the thing would have pilot maneuvers, just because it's technically a raider.
    Maybe for 2k18, we could get a hybrid vessel. Something like a pilot raider, or command cruiser

    Well we know the Vorgon are the summer ships. But I don't know if that will still be the case after 2018 because we have only seen three ships of that race. They could make more. But my money is on a Kentari or Lukari. I don't think the devs are looking into "what races live on Ice planets?" The breen where convenient and relative to the story line, but i think that they will have run their coarse this year. Now the reason I say the Kentari or Lukari is the color of there ships and the space gear screams SNOW STUFF!!! All of the color says sugarplum and if you look at the shapes their ships are starting to take on. I mean look at the ships we voted on, one looked like a snowboard! And if you looked at another tipped on it side it looks like Skis. So I am wondering what it will be next year.

    2018 winter will be 5 years since T6 came out.... time to move up to T7 and start the Breen ships all over!!!

    Or... we might either get a brand new, never before seen Breen Science Vessel. I seriously doubt T7 will ever come as there is no more verticle level progression. The Specialization system allows for lateral, and potentially many years of T6 variants. Hell... we got two different spec variants of the T6 Jem'Hadar bugship and two different spec variants of the T6 Sovy!

    well 1 of the most requested features for ships is to have dedicated console set slots... if you had to rebuy a ship to get it.... I think most folks wouldn't mind. of course these slots are only for the console set the ship comes with.

    There will be more vertical level progression, when they're done milking this one out.

    And when they start the next round of reruns on ships, they will be called T7 even if they're little more than respecs of the T6's, just to give people a reason (however imaginary) to buy them again. T6's are themselves little more than respecs of the T5U's.

    Now that the stats/trait and boff seating is out I am actually looking forward to it. Currently using a Nicor T5-U and the console layout is basically identical, So could easily swap some stuff out and throw DHC on this instead of beams. It's trait sounds interesting, and a A2B build buff

    Not entirely sure whether I am convinced by the stats, but a pilot raider is a nice thing and the admiralty card is really useful.

    Chalk me up for the races (I would have anyway, I like them)
