Mirror Universe Phaser Dual Pistols - the most mundane reward ever ?

These Phaser Pistols fire green-ish bolts


whats the Point ?
Anybody ?

EDIT:
it took me forever to get one [Dmg]x3 Phaser Dual Pistol
which upgraded instantly to ultra rare with a basic upgrade
so i had to craft another :( but i finially got it

we see that the Mirror Universe Dual Phasers have a higher Base damage

    50,000 Dilithium Ore, 500 Fleet Marks, 250 Marks of Your Choice is the point, the pistols are just something extra. At least to me anyway.

    Actually, it's the model used by Mirror!Vic Fontaine:

    but I agree that, except for the nicely-done model, this weapon reeks of laziness.

    Between the ugly Dranuur weapons without unique FX and this one, it seems some people decided to focus on the next expansion or something.

    that would be the pulsewave from the last event... sorry but dual pistols imo is better than a pulsewave.

    The model looks nice, and would fit my Mirror captain Marc "Blackie" DuQuesne with his mirror crew, mirror Holo-Leeta and Paradox.

    Looks like those would be good for PvP with those procs under the current meta, both procs -run speed and stun. And a 12% chance to expose on that secondary attack is pretty good - no?

    That secondary fire sounds pretty cool on dual pistols. But I don't know if it's unique or not.

    Thanks for the info.

    In the event announcement topic I asked already if some one could tell me what is so special about these phaser pistols. Well nothing so it seems based on your input.

    Also I still find it weird to get GROUND gear by doing a 14 days long SPACE event.I dont understand Cryptics logic here. I would have expected something you can use in space. Like a nice space weapon, console, doff or boff, space trait, starship trait etc. for such long SPACE event.

    We are talking ground here, are you sure DMG is one off the best modifiers? And how good is 184DPS base damage compared to other currently available ground weapons?

    Yep, the Skylark series. I also have a Science captain Richard Seaton from the main universe, flying a Fleet Scryer. It's using a Tetryon build with the Nukara set for a Fed-Tholian hybrid look.

    If it was JUST the guns as a reward then 3.5hrs to get them would be way too much time invested... even if you can AFK 11/15 of it. ;)

    184 DPS on Purple Mk XII straight out of the box is poor result? :o
    ... darn and me using 120-150 DPS rifles (after trait bonuses) and doing all episodes and ground PvE.
    the only 180 DPS or so on ground weapon for me is that Plasma Repeater and that only with the bonus from Romulan Imperial Navy Kit frame (+20% plasma).

    The only real upside I find with this as opposed to the previous event weapons is the fact that it's already at very rare rarity.

    I have an alt that uses dual pistols so this is a good one for me.. I also prefer DMGx3 over crit procs. All that said even I think its kinda 'meh'

    The Dil and the Marks are the real reward from the MU Event. Whatever else is added in is just a flourish.

    I like dual pistols. I love the way the characters look when using them.
    Can we get cowboy hats? LOL! :)

    I don't feel like grinding MU Event, though.
    Seeing that, right now, I can't even look past the Character Select screen before shutting it off.
    Soooo burnt out after a month of Drain-uur mini-games.

    Positive note: we did finish Tier 1 of the Colony (so Auto Collect on).
    In exchange: I don't even wanna look at the game, sadly. :(

      My crew are MU, the Orion just happens to prefer blasting her enemies in the face with dual pistols
