    1... Vanity slot for weapons.

2... A method to rebox lockbox ships.

3... Merge the factions, finally! At the very least, an end to faction segregation with regards to STFs and other “missions” that still have it (Colony Invasion, for example).

Oh yes, I remember those days.

If memory serves, there was also a /powerhue command as well. Champions Online still has it.

Unify the color palette and allow greater freedom in mixing/matching costume pieces too.

It would be in their best interest to work off one color palette instead of what... 8(ish)?

    LONG TIME WISH:
    1) PVP "monster play", which means that you can pilot otherwise unavailable ships in "historic" battles (Chintoca, Wolf 359).
Wolf 359 PVP match: A massive AI controled Assimilation Cube is slowly moving towards earth and Blue team (Federation) has to stop it from reaching certain waypoints within a certain time limit. Red team (flying borg repair or attack probes) has to make sure the Cube survives and reaches the waypoint in time.
It doesn't matter if you are a Klingon or Romulan player, you will be given a preequipped Federtion ship from that specific era...you can choose a role however. Sci, to slow the cube and CC enemies, Tac role to get rid of probes. The number of offensive ships and defensive ships is a given for each team. That way, only player skill matters, not their setup or imbalance in roles.
Similar for battle of Chintoka, where you on the Fed team need to complete goals (take out defense turrets, ...) and the enemy team (Cardassians, Jem'hadar) tries to stop you from doing that.

PVP Ranking system, that gives you access to certain prebuild ships in PVP, and even get those ships in game aswell for the highest of the highest of players.

This is my vision for enjoyable PVP in STO.

    2) MUCH LESS EFFECTS...less beams/cannons fireing at once. Also LESS enemy ships that pop already if you look at them angry.
The space combat should be more attrition based, meaning you have a lot less enemies, but they have a lot more HP and SP. More abilities, but less effective abilities. An engagement, even on normal should feel more like the ship to ship battles at levels 1-25. The enemies were not real challenges, but it still took you some time to take them out...first their shields and a well placed torpedo made a huge difference in that tier. Endgame combat should be more like the early game combat. RElated to that: Torp spread should fire a single torpedo to each enemy within the fireing arc, not that huge mass to each target, just causes a drop in framerate if it is even shown, sometimes it seems it isn't.

    3) INTERIOUR!!! Accolade display in your ship interiour, private quarters. In other words, bring back housing! This was completely abandoned for whatever reason. Also, can't my pets be somewhere there too?
    Go pro or go home

    1. Get Cryptic and PWI to open up to their community.
    2. Remove or update PvP.
    3. Put more depth into a storyline.
    T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW.

A magical STO genie granting wishes? Ok, OK, but if this is another of Q's cruel tricks...let me think...

    1) Odyssey Admiral Uniforms available via the C-Store. It's a wish like the OP, and not really much of an ask if Cryptic wanna basically get money from none-sub folks.
    2) T6 Nova class science vessel. It's my ship of choice and I'd really, really love it to get the T6 treatment. It's also a canon starship for Star Trek...so, another good reason in my book. Also, the Nova and Rhode Island class models really could do with a remodel first. They ain't quite true-to-TV form.
    3) Canon ship bridges and interiors. OK, probably will never happen beyond the big 3 (Voyager, Defiant and Galaxy) we now have, but I can wish...

So yeah...let me know if I rubbed the lantern the right way Cryptic folk and if one of the wishes is coming true.

    ;)

In a concept similar to Lord of the Rings Online, award a small number of Zen for completing things like Killing and Discovery Accolades. In LOTRO certain killing and discovery Deeds award LOTRO Points (their Zen). Awards are typically 5 or 10.

Everyone familiar with the "Socket System" as seen in other games ?
    PoE, Diablo, FF7 ect ect

1: Ability to add 1 "Socket"/"Tack on Tech" slot to various crafted weapons + Rep Weapons and R&D items like Deflectors, Shields, Engines, Warpcores, Consoles and Ground Weapons/Armour/Shields.
(Max 3 per ship and 3 per ground set up)

2: Ability to craft various Socket materials/Tack on technology; (Also can find them as drops from Adv/Elite level Difficulty queues).
These Socket materials would add either a mod, extra proc chance, or straight buff to captain base abilities.
    For example;

"Adding [Proc] socket/tack on tech material to an equipment socket/Tack on Tech slot will provide;"
    An additional 2.5% proc
(Choose whatever proc you want so long as they are found on the different vanilla energy weapon types.)
    So for example a vanilla Disruptor beam array might read something like this after adding a proc tack on;

    Disruptor Beam Array
    250' targeting arc to target
    __ Disruptor Damage (__ DPS)
-10 Weapon Power to self while this weapons is firing
to target: 2.5% Chance: -10 All Damage Resistance for 15 sec

    Socket/Tack on Tech: (Tetryon)
to target: 2.5% Chance: -X damage to All Shields

    or
"Adding [Mod] socket material to an equipment socket/Tack on Tech slot will provide"
An additional [CrtD] mod to your current weapon.

    So;
Phaser Beam Array MK XIV [Ac/Dmg] [DMG]x4
    becomes
Phaser Beam Array MK XIV [Ac/Dmg] [DMG]x4 [CrtD]

*(Choose any mod you want that can be found on crafted weapons)

    or
"Adding {CaptSkill] socket material to an equipment socket/Tack on Tech slot will provide"
+15 to Particle Generators Captain Skill
*(Choose any captain skill you want or craft based on school type)

3: Ability to re-roll 1 mod on crafted weapons and R&D technology.

Choose wisely, you can only re-roll 1 mod per item. BUT you can keep re-rolling it until you get what you want.
With each attempt at re-roll the more expensive it becomes - RNG based.

One important thing I'd like to point out is there's been a lot of people talking about broken instance queues where they can't put fires out or quests that have actual structures messed up that it almost makes completing the mission quest for leveling difficult to complete. I really think there needs to be a top to bottom cleanup of STO because if this decay continues it won't be worth purchasing new ships and things from the store because the game itself will not let you use them fully due to bugs. So....

    1. Bug fixes.
    2. Bug fixes.
    3. Bug fixes.
Green people don't have to be.... little.

Three wishes is a tough thing for me considering that I have list of about fifteen or so things that I would like to see them do, but here are three of them.

1: A way to get Lobi without having to open lockboxes.

2: Better interiors for ships. (This covers about a quarter of my list)

3: Make missions that are KDF or Fed specific during the whole game. While it is nice to be able to do things as an alliance, each member group is still going to have things that are specific to that faction.

You can already get lobi without opening lockboxes...

Just looked this up and it mentions the other way to get lobi was in re-run events but that was scrapped a long time ago. R&D packs were the only other option. I am curious where you can get lobi? I have spent a lot on keys just going for the lobi to get certain items. If there is a way to earn without having to drop a ton of $ or dil.....

    My 3.

    1: Bug Fixes

2: Make ships and items available either via Lobi or whatever that were event ships. In other words, new players and newcomers have a chance to get a ship or item that is practically impossible to get now...most of these ships were freebies to older players. I can say that there is nothing worse than finding out you can't complete a set because the ship that has that last console was "an event ship you had to be here 3 years ago for". So far I have run into the whole "you can't, you are too new" and "yea back in that event you got the ship for free just for running the content"... Yea, the ship that has the console I want or need and is not for sale anywhere and only available in the reclaim tab of event store if you were "there". I don't see how this could upset vet players... especially since half those ships were free to begin with... I see no reason to offer new players less because of the "you should have been here" rule. In the short time I have been on the game (4 months?) I have yet to see an event that offers any ship or a re-run you had to work for like the vets I know of the game told me about. So far the only thing I have seen is the phoenix box deal.... in which I dropped over $200 for zen to convert to dil and opened 2700+ boxes to obtain that one epic token for a ship I have been wanting since day one.... A ship that cannot be traded, sold, reclaimed, etc... I will never drop that much money again for a ship... People have said "why buy zen? you should have been saving your dil". Well, being only 3 months in and a sub limited to 6 characters....There is no way I could have saved enough to equal the odds I ended up with. All in all, there should be an event maybe once every 6 mos or so that allow ALL PLAYERS a chance to buy any of the old ships from events... and not an event that requires you to gamble for a chance at a random or what not.

3: I would like to see more people in PvP... I wasn't here back in those days.... but fix whatever it is that got broken because the queues are empty... In my eyes PvP is major end-game content.... and retention of subbers requires a solid amount of end-game content. Buying a lifetime sub isn't the answer for lack of end-game.

Totally disagree. CoX lasted nearly 10yrs off subs alone (no cash-cow tactics for almost all of its time). You played to win and didn't pay to win. This game was done by Cryptic.. and the devs were very involved. The new online gaming style in my opinion is designed for short-term, high profit margins....and not built by lovers of gaming...but built by businessmen with the cash-cow method.... Nothing is built to last now days. STO is one of the few online games left that has traces of "gamer love" left in it that can be exploited and kept alive.... but it will eventually fail for the cash-cow method if that stays the primary reason it is on.

You can also look at an old school game that is still thriving (and one I have played for 9yrs) EVE Online. Only until lately they have started the whole "pay to win" method with options similar to buying zen with arc. Long-term is where it is at...and so far the old ways of MMO's are still at the top...

When you take away the "play to win" basis you lose people. Grinding and new content have always been retention... You take away that and you will fall. (well, unless content and mechanics have been so bad..i.e. poor development)

My first true online game (that I still play avidly and even host)

you fellas are dreaming,,craptic has no vision or programming excellence to take us into the new online gameing..all the best in this game have long scince gone.the game is pretty much dead as it is,, and all your doing is repeating yourselves with another toon becouse after lvl 60 and all is epic your just dressed up with no where to go except to brag about it on chat..the new online game has this one so outclassed it not funny any more. spending real money on this company that has done nothing but let down star trek fans from the begining,,and thats the only reason why some of us are even still here! die hard star trek fans,,so i vote that no one pays any more money to this game and get them out and hope a company with vision and talent takes over so star trek will be in the forefront of advancement and technology in online games where it should be! what say you all!

I have a lot more hope for STO over these next few years than i do for SWTOR. At the very least the Cryptic devs are actively working on their game in a consistent manner and adding more stuff, even if it isn't to what some of us might like, there is a better chance of getting something from Cryptic over these next few years.

Yes, I was going to compare SWTOR. I started that one open beta and literally left it for nearly a year because once you hit 50 you had almost no end-game other than a few daily runs and limited raids etc. I still play SWTOR but maybe once or twice a month now (still subbed). The game is literally stuck in a linear content cycle and has absolutely no staying power with me. I get bored within hours there...even with brand new arcs and content... At least with STO you have endless options on builds etc. You aren't limited to gear like in SWTOR where everyone has the same build for the same class... The stories and arcs in STO also have more options as the Star Trek world is more vast... SWTOR has gone as far away from canon, books, lore, etc in order to make new content that it doesn't feel like Star Wars anymore.

    So, another props to STO

How and why some of you guys equate subscription based MMOs with better content is beyond me, and frankly also beyond any form of reason. Subscription is a doomed business model for online games for almost a decade now...if it was feasable, there would be some around, appart from WoW. And even WoW offers a method to bypass monthly subscription.
Again, subscription based business model does not equal a decent game, this is simply nostalgia because the games you liked 15 years ago were subscription based, but this was simply because it was the only business model around at the time.
The truth is, that F2P model saved many games from completely being deserted or closed down already.
TRIBBLE about the loot boxes all you want, they saved the game from being closed down and quite frankly, getting FREE content regularely without the need of spending a dime (still contributing to the Zen economy though, as does almost every other F2P user) is freaking glorious. I get to play in on of my favourite franchise world for free, with a lot of other people. Which is important since the having lots of users, even not paying users keeps the game alive both in terms of gameplay and economically. Take AoC as an example how you can ruin a game by restricting access behind a paywall for F2P users...the servers are almost dead. Cryptic did everything right in that regard, and I'd even go as far as to say that had Funcom and Bioware (EA) decided on opening all their content to F2P users, both games would be much more alive and profitable.

Concerning bugs I have to say that while I'd never be for a refining sweep of the game in general, I don't see what all the fuzz is about bug fixing. I have yet to encounter a bug after almost 10 years playing this game that prevented me from enjoying the game. And the times something anoying happened, I can count on one hand.

Personally, if I were to sub to a game. I'd be very selective. I played WoW for years, but since Cataclysm, it's became entirely to easy and boring. A fault that even STO has, it's entirely to easy.

I player SWTOR for a time, when a preferred customer wasn't bent over. Their F2P model is horrid.

I played FFXIV with their new F2P model. Which, isn't much better than SWTORs. You can't even access the exchange there without subbing.

Of all of the games that offer subscriptions, the only one that I would consider subbing to is FFXIV. This is based on game play and content.

While STO has plenty of content, the game play leaves one wanting something more engaging. And the latest iterations of content have not been entertaining or engaging. Most of the content from Delta on leaves the player wondering, "Why did I even show up for this?"

The only reason STO remains a game, is because of the Star Trek fans. It is the only Star Trek MMO out there. Just like SWTOR is the only Star Wars MMO out there. If there were other versions of either, I'm sure both would likely be on the way to shutting down. I mean that's the only reason I play STO and SWTOR, I have no other options for them.

    Wish list...

Make all ships account bound, no matter the source. No more character bound ships.

Make Queues playable by any number of people. In other words, if you want to run Azure Nebula (Advanced), should be able start it by yourself. As a caveat to this, when you run and complete the content with less than the required amount of content, the rewards should be increased accordingly. So if you Complete Azure Nebula by yourself you should get 5 times the reward. If you do it with 4 people, you should get 1.25 the rewards.

Pet Bank should be created and expand the bridge officer candidates storage.

At this point, with the introduction of so many alien ships, doing interiors is impossible because there is no way they would have the time to build interiors for all these alien ships, and there is nothing to be gained from it since the majority of players wouldn't use it.

just to add, the interiors never sold that well as well. if it isn't profitable enough, there isn't much point putting resources to lose money or break even.

Regarding that second thing: in principle I would agree with increasing rewards for soloíng or completing a mission with less than 5 players. I disagree on the numbers though. Some advanced content like Azure Nebula or ISA are fairly easy with even 2 or 3 players. I don't think it would be a good idea if players who can already easily complete missions, would be rewarded with even more resources then they'd possibly need while the more average players find themselves in incomplete teams, unable to earn even the basic reward.

It'd be quite difficult to implement this well. I'm all for being able to play missions with less than 5 players though, if they can work it out properly.

They could try and add standard interiors to lobi/lockbox/promo etc. ships though. There's no need to design new stuff there, only a need to make things available that already exist.

Personally I don't even care that much about unique bridges. I'd be happy with some of the standard Federation bridges and interiors on most of my ships, that's something I'd definitely prefer to having only a very small room available. I don't really fly these unique ships because I want an unique bridge; flying an unique ship is good enough for me.
