Borg cubes disappear while exploding

For a while now whenever a Borg cube is defeated it disappears for a few seconds before it finally explodes. I had thought it might be just my setup but I have seen it in several gameplay videos now. I'm not sure if it affects any other large ships or just Borg.

    Yup, happens on PS4 as well so it must be some system issue.

    ya, one of the biggest complaints because you end up flying into empty space and then POOF it then comes back and kills ya... been like this since season 13 nerf just to aggravate eveerybody a little more... Brace for Impact is your friend here :))

    Been like this for a while now. At first I thought it was due to lag induced by using a laptop with wireless instead of my usual wired desktop PC, but no it's just another one of many major graphical glitches in the game.
