Auto-Execute interrupting vital interactions.

Not really a bug, just a quality of life detail that's overlooked.

But, for example, I'm playing Mirror Invasion, and I'm working on closing a rift. I ward off the Terran ships hanging around nearby and begin interacting with the rift. Closing ... 25% ... 50% ... 75% ... oop, Tactical Team just executed, interrupting my closure of the rift. I gotta close it before more ships come through it. Interacting again ... 25% ... 50% ... 75% ... oop, there goes Attack Pattern Alpha. I gotta close it before- ... to late, here's another squad of Terran ships.

Honestly, this wasn't really a problem before Mirror Invasion, so apparently we are seldom in need to interact with spatial objectives in a hurry. But, since there are occasions where we do, can we please address this?

Can there be some simple algorithm programmed in so Auto-Execute checks to see if there's some sort of interaction going on before it executes itself? Sure, I know I said "Whenever possible." But yeesh, it's interrupting time-sensetive interactions during virtual life-and-death situations.

    This has always been an issue. It didn't start with the Mirror Invasion. Depends on what content you're playing - some queues/missions it acts just like what you described, but in others it seems that "interaction prompted by button X" executes correctly regardless of what buffs/abilities auto activate in the meantime. Just seems the interactions are not programmed equally for these different occasions.

    I know it didn't start with it, I'm just saying the Mirror Invasion really brought it to my attention.

    And I'm saying they should fix it.

    They should indeed. Holding my breath for it to get fixed? Nope.

    this has been going on for ages now, heck if you watch the shows voyager/defiant/enterprise can have their engineers/scientists/tactical officers doing all sorts of stuff while in combat without many interruptions yet if any of our abilities or passive skills auto activates or an enemy so much as sneezes in our direction it cancels out any special interactions needed especially in ground/space adventure zones.

    Fix this, please! I've lost count how many times I would've been in the clear, had an ability not decided to interrupt the interaction process.

    "Station disabled, bringing repair subroutines online." How do we keep the station from getting to 0? Close the portals. How do we close the portals? I don't know, apparently disable all auto-execute abilities on the ship so they won't interrupt vital portal closing operations.

    Either that, or the devs fix this so abilities run a check to see if we're interacting before executing.

    Agreed, like closing rifts in Mirror events, it is like this since the beginning, but it seem Cryptic dev and Arcgames are more interested in providing new lockboxes than to fix the bugs...

    You almost have to wait until Red Alert drops off, which is problematic some times...
