So, with the announcement of the new "Miracle Worker" Primary Specialization, it seems inevitable that we'll be getting ships that not only have seating for those new powers, but also ships with unique mechanics dedicated to that specialization.
While this might be semantics, I'm curious about what everyone's thoughts on the naming convention for such ships is.
Do you want to be flying literal "Miracle Cruisers", "Miracle Science Vessels", "Miracle Raiders", "Miracle Winnebago Patrol Death Trap Retrofits", etc. around?
Do you have a better suggestion for a suitable Prefix name?
(Personally speaking, I think it sounds a bit silly, although perhaps a bit less silly than the Pilot prefix - something I wish they would have used a different name for. I realize there's something to be said for "the name's on the tin", but I can't help but think something like "Resilient Destroyer" or "Reinforced Carrier" would be a more apt and immersive designation for these kinds of ships.)

Resilient / Reinforced might fit the bill more aptly, but they don't do anything for me personally, they sound a bit boring.
I like the nod to Scotty.

Despite how my included personal opinion might be misinterpreted, this is not intended to be a complaint thread. It's intended to be an open "discussion". I am genuinely curious what other people think about how specialized ships are named. There hasn't been an official announcement regarding what these new ships will eventually be called, so there's (potentially) a chance for player input to help shape things - now is the time to discuss it.
(Similiarly, desires for future reputation content would probably be a good topic to discuss because they're probably in the middle of working/planning the next one now.)
engineers do seem to have a lancer's luck. and personally gonna try the new spec on my one engineer character, he doesn't have one I find fitting yet.
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.
Same.

Eh... I don't know about "marginalized". But I can see this Miracle Worker spec making an Engie even TANKIER.
normal text = me speaking as fellow formite
colored text = mod mode
I think I like it. Considering how many peeps complain about the lack of purpose as well as the S13 options as far as tanking is concerned I’m happy to see that Cryptic dedicates some effort into it.

Considering the unlove the Galaxy usually gets I would assume it would get a T5 Galaxy for the mission. Then see the unveiling of the T7 Excelsior.

You do understand I was being silly, right?

At the moment all we have is the name, without more context alternatives like resilient may be off the mark.
Maybe they could be Montgomery class ships, covers all bases, well except other factions I suppose lol
Seriously?

And one serious comment.
I wish you luck. You have been the banner waver for a T6 Nova since I think T6 was announced. They make one I will buy one.

See also, temporal spec.
I 'spose...but what you describe moves from marginalizing to pigeonholing. The s13 changes to captain powers to make them more distinct and make engineers quantifiably the best in self-healing and power management were just a good first step.
All this said, 2 of my 9 toons have enough banked spec points to grab the entire spec day 1, so I intend to give it a good go.
I'd love more of a space version of what I do on ground with the Omega shield, improved crouch, and gambling device for more than 100% dodge chance. Expand on the Eng crafting school trait by allowing people with this spec to avoid damage in sort of a soft-counter way or recover more quickly through improved hull regeneration (which I still want all sources to list as '% of max/min in combat' and have displayed in the stat window).
As for the original post, I could see 'Resilient" as an adjective, or always using the full name of the spec, 'Miracle Worker'. Shortening it to 'Miracle' is something a lot of people will probably do unofficially anyway, but it seems kind of cutesy or fantastical/magic.
