Brushfire Accolade Surpassing Riker nearly impossible

I'm trying with my 3rd Char to get the accolade for more than 1 hour. My other chars needed 40 mins and about 5 tries to get the accolade.
Hit the Son'a Dreadnought with at least three Metreon Gas explosions in Brushfire
is nearly impossible when the I.K.S. is destroying up to 3 of 6 Metreon, after defeating the Klingons. When the Allied attack the C.S.S. Relentless up mostly 2 Metreon are destroyed too.
Often when I get the Dreadnought to the second nebula, all others are gone.
