This will probably get deleted, and that's ok. But I just wanted to say thanks to the devs out there who are putting in a lot of work to keep STO as awesome as it is. I see a lot of people complaining about this or that on the forums, but I see very few people saying Thank You.
So here it is:
Thank you. Making a game as big as this can't be easy, and you guys and gals put in a lot of time, energy, and experience into it to try and give us the best possible product. I've been enjoying STO since it came out in beta so many years ago and it's only gotten more and more awesome. Thank you!

A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch."
"We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"
Without the players, the devs wouldn't have this job to pay their bills.
It's cool that players sometimes feel the desire to post a 'thank you' thread to the devs.
What's not cool is that I don't recall seeing a dev posting a 'thank you' thread to the players.
For the record, I do see the standard, once a year PR statement from the executive producer about the state of the game, which typically includes some thanks. But I wonder why individual devs don't feel the desire to thank their players on a regular basis?
What you are describing is just a transaction. You spend money, so they keep making things for you to spend money on. They aren't doing it for charity, or for art's sake. They are doing it because they get paid to do it. That is a transaction, just like paying for food at a restaurant.
But you felt the desire to go beyond the emotionless transaction and actually thank them with your words. My question is why they don't feel the desire to do the same.
Like I said: without them, you wouldn't have this game to play. Without you, they wouldn't have a job. They are getting much more from you than you are from them, yet I don't see devs posting thank you threads (outside of the once a year PR statement).
It's just strange, that's all.

Yeah? I must not be following the right devs then, because I haven't seen anything to that effect recently. Any examples?
Yeah, you can find bad apples in any social group. And I'm not suggesting that kind of attitude should be rewarded.
All I'm saying is that we have a situation where both "sides" are benefiting. The players get a game to play, and the devs get paid to make the game.
And yet, even though both sides are benefiting, it seems like only one side actually steps outside of the "transaction" and says "thank you" to the other. It's just...strange.
Yes, I do appreciate the work that goes into this game. I also appreciate the playerbase for funding this game. I would like to thank both the devs and the players for making this game a thing.
such work. The creative element needs to exist before anyone plays, or buys.
Hats off to you OP!

You got on one side the artists, ship artists, enviroments, special effect and pretty much every dev that makes STO look pretty. You cant praise enuf these guys. They make an amazing work, sometimes breathtaking... Hats off to them...
And you got systems or who ever makes the queues, gameplay wise, rewards, challanges etc. These guys do their best to hinder, obfuscate and frustrate the players as much as possible. Seriously, and I hope I dont get modded for this, but its true, latetly in the past 2-3 years its seems like this game is made by masochists for masochists. For real...
Its like they just want to ruin what the enviroments/artists create... Or like right hand want to ruin what left hand does... Becouse at the end of the day, it really doesnt matter how pretty something is, if the whole thing makes you throw your keyboard at the monitor... And becouse of them there are dead queues and such... And they know what ppl want/like... They just dont like what ppl want/like and continue to this road, relying on whales and lockboxes/promos and becouse they know they are the only with the IP license and there isnt another Star Trek game out there...
