Crashing during Kobayashi Maru event

I have this annoying bug where the game would crash when I begin the Kobayashi Maru event.
I would queue up just fine. Enter the event fine.
However, when the timer reaches zero to actually start the battle I would crash to desktop. Then I would have to restart the game and rejoin the same queue just fine.
It happens every time I play the event. It is just annoying.
