Working on the next pages this weekend, so stay tuned, yo!
Been playing with visuals, and here's my first attempt at a warp effect:
Feedback, please.
I like it. Couple of questions;
What program do you use to render your images?
Is the background set up as a separate piece stuck behind the ship? Or is the software you are using including that as the background?
Do you use any post-processing software like Photoshop?
Reason I ask is, I think you can get these to "pop" a little more if you add some quick and dirty effects in something like Photoshop. Take a look at the deflector and left bussard collector in this;
I added a light glow over them in Photoshop to show how adding a little bit post rendering helps bring the image to life (IMO).
Did the model you are using come with different texture layers to help bring out the aztecing on the hull?
I am using the old Daz 3.1
The BG is a cone primitive skinned with a warp star field
Don't use any, don't got PS
The model I retextured and and replaced the pylons with TOS ones.
dilithium is a more purplish-pink and it's also got a very high gloss (i think that's called a refractive index) to it that those renders are missing
A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch." "We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"
Passion and Serenity are one.
I gain power by understanding both.
In the chaos of their battle, I bring order.
I am a shadow, darkness born from light.
The Force is united within me.

I'll give it another go in a bit....I want to avoid them looking like hunks of plastic, though.
In the meantime, after doing tonight's endeavor, fighting with Terrans, I did the Terok Nor assault. And when Leeta sets you on fire, I kept thinking this happening.
While I don't celebrate the holidays, hope yours are going well, yo!
Do you make the models for your ships yourself B ?
They're well done, seen quite a few I like in here.
That shuttle on the bookcase is super cute. Love the skewed proportions. Keep up the good work.
I made none of them. The Miranda was from Foundation3D, and the shuttle was from Vanishingpoint, the former a freebie, the latter a pay item. The shuttle is actually the one we see from the first few seasons of TNG.....Time Squared, The Mind's Eye, and The Ensigns of Commandand Identity Crisis being examples we see it in. The only thing I made was my virtual me posing there.

Ah okay fair enough, just seemed the shuttle was a little skewed in proportions (in a good way) in comparison to the actual show model. I don't remember it being so chubby, but perhaps my memory is failing me. I like the look of it in any event.
A head up about the Kelvin stuff. I got the hero ship narrowed down a bit more, and found another Kelvin Connie mesh, which I am trying to work with. It's a bit tricky, since even using the texture skins it came with does not work right....the maker, no disrespect, probably did something wrong or forgot something, since the saucer is a pain in the butt to skin...I'm still trying to work with it.
Anyhow, here it is, along with the other candidates.
The original candidate.
The "Kintrepid" model.
A different connie, with Kelvin parts used.
What do you think?
Also, working on the xmas comics, got a few in the bag set up already.
I also have a toon parked at winter wonderland, making a run for the even ship. And presumably putting way gallons of hot chocolate.
Thankies. ~curtsy~
Got some toons there as well.
The Winter land game would be really awesome as a stand alone game....ya make a character and ya help out in this world of cookie people vs snowmen. I'd buy it

That would actually be pretty fun! =D
Also, that one ship is very cool, with the saucer like shape. Sort of like a Delta type mated with a YT style ship from the Star Wars universe?
Resident TOS, G.I. Joe, Transformers and hair metal fangirl.

Here's a test shot, practicing on rendering dilithium deposits, and other crystalline elements. Let me know what you think, k?

They are close as you can get, I think. And any good mini skirt will do as well for the bottom bit, or go for some good loose pants and T'pol shoes.

Perhaps. Anyhow, I'm currently making comics regarding the xmas event, yo. Got some already planned in the works.
