Red Alert!!! Bots are being use

Dear support team,

a number of frienship requests of unknown user, or users have being using the spam bot/ hacking tools on number of good and genuine users that have personal bank details and use sto a lot, however, this unknown user has been sending me, friendship requests number of time and I do not accepted it and now I feel it has gone to far me to handle. I have watch one youtube video that shows one user getting just that. As I already know that sto bans these bots but it feels like sto users are getting these bots and ruin our game. please do something about it as part of customer service you can normally provide us

    Yes "random" friend requests by unknown user is back ... like the old ones with spam for "gold sellers " inside it .....

    It's probably related to the spam you receive in your in game mailbox , more & more since a week ...

    Probably a new invasion .. of annoying spammers .

    This basically, I received one idling in sector space. The website name was included in the character name, the handle being completely random.

    It's best to simply ignore these spams. There is literally nothing you or Cryptic/PWE for that matter can do since those spam accounts are probably not active longer than a few seconds and then either deleted or not used any more. So Cryptic banning one but/character/account does absolutely nothing as new accounts get automatically created in a heartbeat. There is literally no way to stop this aside from restricting registrations and that would also block new legitimate users.

    1. Ignore, 2. report (if you want, it doesn't help really though other than making you feel better) and 3. carry on pig-1.gif​​

    thanks for your comments, I am one of the genuine users who is also is building up a good fleet but now I am going to take some action to protect myself and my fleet members.
