I would like to see playable civilian classes in these for the different factions, such as traders or smugglers or scientists etc.
I still want an Independent faction. Various available races working together, making money, getting dragged into scenarios because Starfleet, the Republic, and/or the KDF need deniability...

Things I want in STO:
1) More character customization options such as more clothing options, letting the toon complexion affect the entire body, not just the head. Also a true RGB color picker applied to all costume and appearance options, which would allow for true appearance customization and homogenous colors instead of "this same exact color looks vastly different on two different pieces."
2) Bridge customization, not bridge packs. Let us pick a general layout and adjust the color palette, console appearance, and chair types, as well as more ready room layout options.
3) Customizable ground weapons, i.e. The aesthetic look of phaser dual pistols but they shoot antiproton bolts. For obvious reasons this would only apply to standard ground weapons.
4) For the love of Q please revamp Plasma Ground Weapons. They look like demented Supersoakers right now.
5) True Vanity Impulse and Deflector effects similar to Vanity Shields.
6) A greater payout for hitting T6 Reputations. Currently it takes more time and resources to get from T5 to T6 than it does to get from nothing to T5. Make that grind really pay out at the end.
7) Mirrorverse Refugee event similar to AoY/Delta/Gamma, complete with new Mirrorverse recruits for all factions.
8) Independent Faction, because yo ho yo ho a pirate's life for me!
That is a nice looking ship alright. I may be a new-ish player, and a free one currently, but I'm not averse to spending money on a game I like. I'm enjoying the game so far and it has certainly changed from Beta, for the better it seems.
That said, I'm also not someone who is going to gamble and throw money away if the odds are stacked against me in a ludicrous fashion. What are the odds of actually getting one of the ships from these R&D packs? Are we talking 1 in 20, 1 in 50, 1 in 100?

it's 1% chance to pull a promo ship (which is double the chance of pulling a lockbox ship since the R&D packs cost twice as much as a master key, zen-wise), so 1 in 100
just keep in mind the way probability works means that you DON'T have a 100% chance to pull a ship on that 100th box...you may open a thousand and never get one, or get one on the first try
so if you want the ship risk-free and have the funds to do so, the smart thing to do is buy those 100 packs and dump them all on the exchange; you should get enough EC from the sales to buy the ship directly from the space billionaires who can afford to open hundreds of packs without putting a serious dent in their ingame wealth
but also keep in mind, as a free player, you're limited to 10 million EC, so picking up the EC cap increase is a necessity...and even then, it'll only increase it to 1 billion, which selling 100 R&D packs at the average price of 16 million apiece will put you well over, so supplementing with master keys is also a must - or just use master keys exclusively; you'll need around 250 for one promo ship, as they average around 1.5 billion EC

everything I've heard says promo ships are about 1in 100. and the ones that don't have the ship give lobi. so it doesn't hurt to open a few if you want anything from the lobi store. but yeah chasing the ship is a bad idea.
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.
Well then, it looks like the first thing on my list to do will be to buy the EC cap increase. A friend recommended that to me as a first real money purchase so not surprising.
Also, seeing it's a 1% chance to get one is too steep for me to bother with attempting to get the ship thru the R&D box promo. I'll save my money for other things. It's a bit disheartening to hear that these kinds of ships command such a huge price on the secondary market, but I understand that rarity drives prices.
One last question, these types of promotions sound fairly common, as in more than a couple of times a year, so just how often do they come around? It was mentioned that there are others of these types of promo ships, so I'm just curious.
I can't see myself ever trying to "chase the ship" from them, but one never knows as the itch to get one may override common sense. I think I'd rather spend my money on things that unlock across my account so that any and all characters I create can use them. It would seem that is the more inexpensive route to take anyway.
"Those people who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do." - Isaac Asimov
they come around every 6-9 months or so...probably on a schedule, but seemingly random
new lockbox releases, however, can be timed - they are always almost exactly 3 months apart, give or take a few days; also, you'll know one is coming when they drop an infinity lockbox event, as they always have one in the week leading up to a new box
and yes, the EC cap increase is absolutely the first purchase you should make - the second should be account bank slots, at least one row of them, so you can get access to the account bank

If these are indeed missing, then I must apologize for the oversight. I can only guess that there may have been a miscommunication internally as to what amenities were expected to be present on the Amarie's new interior map, or that they somehow didn't make it into the build that went live.
We'll get this straightened out as quickly as possible. The ships is definitely intended to have access to these, and more. Pretty much whatever is on the Tuffli interior.
Thanks for asking about it. It helps to catch this stuff quickly.

First R&D Promo: Boost that Kinetic/Projectile Weaponry.
Sale Complete.
WHAT reduction of projectiles?!? Grav torps are like almost OP now. And hyper torps with overwhelming force can rack up some stupid silly damage as well.
Hyper torps? What are those? Looks like I may need those.
The full name is Romulan Hyper Plasma torp and used correctly its very powerfull. It stacks well with Overwhelming force which triggers per hit and each time the hyper fires that's 3 Hyper torps.
Also, seeking torps recently got buffed, so these are easier to use against NPCs than before.
These are like that attack D'Deridexs use against you.
Devs: I spent a stupid amount of money on Zen to buy R&D packs in this promotion just so I could get this ship. I finally got the ship, and the ship does NOT have "Bank, Mail, and Exchange Access."

As per announcement:
Miscellaneous
Every Amarie-class Smuggler’s Heavy Escort features a brand new custom bridge and interior, which includes many of the amenities seen in lower-tier Freighters. These features include:
Trader Contact
Quartermaster Vendor
Bank, Mail, and Exchange Access
NOTE: The above stats and systems are subject to change.
As noted above, this ship does not currently have Bank/Mail/Exchange access as advertised. If this was "subject to change", I probably wouldn't have bought the R&D event packs.
None of you can read where borticus says they are adding the bank/mail/exchange stuff in this thread just a few posts up?
People are less likely to read through and see if their question has been answered when they are upset about something. It's counterintuitive, yes, but it happens.

The full name is Romulan Hyper Plasma torp and used correctly its very powerfull. It stacks well with Overwhelming force which triggers per hit and each time the hyper fires that's 3 Hyper torps.
Speaking of torps, since you seem to know a fair bit...any idea what generates projectiles named something like "rapid heavy plasma torpedo" (I may have the first 2 words out of order)? I've seen them in use a fair few times during this mirror event, which makes me think they're either a new item or some new modification to an existing item.
So all of these cash grabs are not going to improve server attendance. In the span of two months, we have had Ent J, the CatScorts, The t6 Miranda and now this. Perhaps if you stopped crippling the players ability to enjoy the game, you would have an increase in attendance. Your balancing (pronounced nerfing), the god awful PvE UI, and the one episodes seasons are showing a total lack of innovation. I know the ship is canon, but there are better TNG ships you have brought into existence, instead of this lazy refit to the Husnark.
The Promo pack schedule has been pretty much the same since Delta Rising. Early December, Early March, Late May and Late August. Not sure why the 2 week discrepancy exists, but it's been a feature since late 2014, and probably earlier. I'd expect someone who opens so many prize boxes of various kinds would have noticed the pattern, but you're here to tell them to listen to what you say, rather than pay attention to what you do again, like after Delta Rising, right?
Sounds about right...probably is less profitable than previously and resents that. Then buries the real reason in generalized bandwagon complaints that assert something on behalf of the 'majority '.
Look, I have dinner to prepare and it's the only source of meat at the moment. Horsemeat is rather tough, so I'm not beating it. I'm tenderizing it.
We seem to have some fine chefs here, and some other number that fancy themselves as such, eh?
Not everybody has access to that high-falootin' grocery store meat. We gotta make do with what we have. Old Hatrack may have been had a name and been beloved, but there's no need to waste perfectly good meat on sentiment.

Well no such luck for me winning an Amarie with the R&D Packs I opened. I'm not surprised at all but nevertheless still disappointed & irritated at myself for even believing. I have a few remaining so now to figure out to try to sell or keep opening like a dupe LOL. Selfishly this is 1 item I wish would skyrocket in price because of the recent currency changes, but it's not happening.
I do think that Cryptic handled the missing, initially, Amarie facilities well though through acknowledgement & communication!
I also really like the ideas from themadprofessor: 4) Terran Empire event similar to AoY, complete with new Mirrorverse recruits for all factions. & 5) Independent Faction, because yo ho yo ho a pirate's life for me! Nothing wrong with the others, but those two had the most appeal to me.

Okay I found the Bank&mail&exchange terminals. How about he Quartermaster that gives Operations doff assignments (on Tuffli and SCS, this NPC has discounted commodities), they still have work to do here...
Not surprised I missed new bank/mail/exchange terminals. Barely playing the game on Surface tablet in hotel room
I'll have to check this evening to be sure, but I believe the Operations guy is there and has been there from the start. Instead of hoarding them all on the bridge, they spread a lot of the NPCs to different areas of the ship. Do some exploring to see where and I'll do some investigation tonight for you.

*nods* The Quartermaster on the Tuffli is somewhere way in the aft of the ship too. More logical too, to have him near cargo bay and all.

Thanks for asking about it. It helps to catch this stuff quickly.
This in mind... my question/feedback/issue is that there is a massive terminal on the bridge dedicated solely to "Account Bank" and nothing else. You must run down to the Cargo Bay to access all of the other amenities. Which, if this was always intended from the beginning, fine. That is understandable. But then you access the "Bank" Terminal in the Cargo Bay and there is yet another place to access the "Account Bank." I served in the military, so I'm not stranger to "redundant components," but of all the features to make redundant, it seems odd to devote that to "Account Bank." Was this another oversight during the process of pushing out a patch?
It seems to me that either everything should be accessible from that massive console on the bridge or the bridge terminal should be changed to access some "other" feature also accessible from the Cargo bay. Exchange perhaps.

I think I'd rather spend my money on things that unlock across my account so that any and all characters I create can use them. It would seem that is the more inexpensive route to take anyway.
new lockbox releases, however, can be timed - they are always almost exactly 3 months apart, give or take a few days; also, you'll know one is coming when they drop an infinity lockbox event, as they always have one in the week leading up to a new box
and yes, the EC cap increase is absolutely the first purchase you should make - the second should be account bank slots, at least one row of them, so you can get access to the account bank
#LegalizeAwoo
A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch."
"We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"

Devs: I spent a stupid amount of money on Zen to buy R&D packs in this promotion just so I could get this ship. I finally got the ship, and the ship does NOT have "Bank, Mail, and Exchange Access."
Please fix this ASAP with a patch.
Don't believe the lies in this forum. I am NOT an ARC user. I play STO on Steam or not at all.
They're working on it.

There needs to be some consumer protection laws that force online items that come with a chance of winning something to be treated like real-world contests where the odds of winning have to be published.
People are less likely to read through and see if their question has been answered when they are upset about something. It's counterintuitive, yes, but it happens.

General:
Added Bank, Mail, and Exchange interacts to the interior of the Amarie-class Smuggler’s Heavy Escort along with other amenities.
The Bank, Mail, and Exchange terminals are in the cargo bay. They are on individual terminals. Go check it out.

Sounds about right...probably is less profitable than previously and resents that. Then buries the real reason in generalized bandwagon complaints that assert something on behalf of the 'majority '.

*nods* The Quartermaster on the Tuffli is somewhere way in the aft of the ship too. More logical too, to have him near cargo bay and all.
If memory serves, the Operations quartermaster is either in the middle of the cargo bay or in the Den of Sin, erm... Engineering.

Below are some screenshots showing what I mean.
