Let KDF players be TARG HANDLERS

Why not? People play Fed more than KDF. With the addition of being a Targ Handler, more people might play KDF.

As evidenced by WoW, people like being Hunters and Targ Handlers are the closest STO gets to this.

Hmmmm....I will have to delete my Temporal Fed to make me a Targ Handler...
Though I won't be adding to the populace of KDF players, because I already am one.

When i started playing (a long long time ago in a galaxy far away.. or is that the wrong franchise) i thought that the targs were the klingon version of the federation drones and turrets.

Would like a "targ" kit module to be honest.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I only picked up STO to play a Klingon Targ handler character and givent hat there are NPCs like this it should be a reasonable expectation. But oh well.

In the meantime, I'm waiting for someone able to handle me pig-2.gif

I don't think there is a Targ Combat pet....there is a Targ Pup, regular pet.
There is a Jackal Mastiff combat pet, freebie Combat Pet...from the mission on Rura Penthe.
But it is not the same as having attack Targs under my control.

Why not universal combat pet kit modules? Plenty of beasties for a Klingon handler to use!

    But why?

Targs are like greased up wire brushes. Very hard to handle, very slippery and can cut you at the same time.

Plus they chew your newspapers up.

Why photonic tags, just transport them from the storage of a klingon kitchen.

I'd love to have a Reputation or Specialization or Crafting School that allowed us to acquire, train, upgrade/raise Ground Combat Pets. Preferably something that would allow us to have BOFFs also use them.

There are plenty of animal models already in-game that could be adapted to the purpose.

(sour note) it won't happen until and unless it can be given to the Feds in a superior form.

Vulcan's have felines and ursine types of pets. Humans could have a variety of combat Dogs. Romulan's, well meh....

How about let feds herd Pakleds? They make things go.

But in all seriousness, I think the Targs, Lizards, Dogs, and Cats, should just be added to the fleet holdings as a combat pet.

You get a Targ herder title or whatever for using it so many times, like an accolade, which reduces cool down a bit.

What about Space Combat Pets too?

Trek had quite a few space-faring animals and energy critters. For example, the entity in Obsession where Captain Ahab... umm... Kirk, uses an antimatter bomb to kill a bloodsucking cloud creature. Train one of those and watch your enemies' crews die by the thousands.

Easy to animate: just take a cloud and add sparkly lights. They could also be ground pets, and you can change the color of the lights by doing dance moves...

No, that's the Companion, which incidentally looks the same in the unaltered original episode. Why does everyone think because you can do graphics better now you should redo all the old stuff?

I like the idea of photonic pets for Feds. Drones that generate a holo field around them to mimick different animals. They'd probably deal energy damage instead of physical and lack biologic traits bit are immune to EV hazards or something like that.
