Tholian Tarantula 1 shot

During a Tholian red alert, I was 1 shotted 3 times by the Tarantula vessels, dealing around 190k hits each time according to the damage report. This was through near max shields and hull health; seems a tad excessive for a 'normal' queue, so I'm assuming it's bugged.

I've done the Red Alert hundreds of times pre-balance and never experienced that. I've been hit with everything they can throw at me and eventually destroyed, but never one shot and out, not even once. The ship is a cruiser and bolstered to the hilt, so hardly what one would refer to as 'squishy'; 85k hull + >45% resists across the board, with the standard rep traits slotted for survivability. Absolutely and unequivocally not typical for those dreads in that queue.

I don't know if it was intended, but RA's are spawning enemies at 10 levels higher, as opposed to matching you at lvl 60. So, maybe that's it, but even before the changes, Tholian tarantulas could one-shot if you got in their crosshairs with their special weapon.

Fair enough. I guess I've just never been hit with that specific attack previously then; had it not been thrice in a row, with only seconds between it happening again I wouldn't have even thought it was anything out of the ordinary. I shall have to take extra care in there in future, clearly xD.

My best strategy is to avoid attacking them on their forward arc, as that's where their big boom comes from. It's a cone attack.

Contrary, I've been one shot a couple times too, not by Tholians yet though, mostly from Borg. Despite having high shield drain resist on my Science, a Borg Cube still manages to drain about 22k worth of shields, and one shot through ~30% of resists in a very very short amount of time, especially with Heavy Plasma Torp doing nearly 70k. Will have to test later with my tank build, but so far it feels more like every normal queue is Elite.

There is definitely something going on. I tried a "Empire Defense: Federation" mission on my Klingon Negh'Var on advanced and I was utterly destroyed by frigates and MMSVs (which seem to be T6 ships now with new unknown abilities). It was never this insane to do these missions. I am not complaining, though. I am just completely ill prepared to face 200k HP frigates right now xD

Just to update this; I've had a response from Cryptic regarding the Tholians reducing my ship to its constituent atoms, and apparently it may indeed be a gameplay bug. I guess it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to assume that they would have buffed the NPC's with the balance pass though, as they weren't all that much of a challenge past a certain level before. Just gonna have take a little more care rather than flying into the middle of a group of enemies and hoping for the best xD.

It seems to be the other way. You're kicked to 50, like normal, but Tholians and Borg spawn at 60. They're still doable, but you can't really go do your owm group or anything, as even a group of five probes and cubes will tear you up.

Personally, I still find borg rather weak in RA's. I can nuke a group in under 30 sec.
