I have been asking for years now to have STF's that have to be played in order to get gear. This is going to be a game changer for STO! Endgame players will no longer log in, refine Dil, do their Admiralty , and then scratch their heads as they have to invent their own fun and find something to do. Now there is something to do.
I just hope the prices of the competitive gear are EXPENSIVE so getting even 1 piece of that gear is not something you can do in a single day or even a week of play. We need STO players to stay logged in and playing.
Again, thank you, I think this is really going to help the game grow and get people to keep coming back for more.
I know players tend to complain a lot about any little changes, but in 6 years this is perhaps one of the most exciting changes I have seen, and I wanted to come and let you know that I am very grateful. I love this game, and this is the change we need to push it to the next level.

What are you talking about? Every single reputation mark can be exchanged for either gear or dilithium. There's nothing new about this kind of reputation. You play the queues, you level up your reputation, you exchange marks and stratagems for gear.

szim's right. We have to play related content for gear from specific reps, with few exceptions. We can't get the Dyson Rep Proton Rifle by running Infected you know.

I don't think someone fully understood this.

You still have to.

1. Do content to get Marks.
2. Level the Reputation tiers with those Marks, XP and EC.
3. Buy gear from the Reputation store or do projects.

So this is exactly like every other reputation so far.

It won't be like the old days where you do the STF and get a random piece of gear, as a reward..
