Long Range Science Vessel design issue.

I don't know how many others have noticed, but the lower portion of the Bellerophon and Pathfinder saucers actually block the deflector dish (which is located on the front of the main hull). I didn't even realize this was going on until I tried to get a look at my Pathfinder with my shiny new Assimilated Deflector Array.

Aside from ruining the visuals, the deflectors are involved in several types of shields and sensors, and if that dish is blocked, your ship is both blind and vulnerable, based on canon ship design/function.

Also, I seem to be experiencing a bug regarding the ship's name on the hull. The registry appears properly, but the name appears to be a scrambled jumble of letters and numbers overlaid on top of each other. If more information is needed to track down the cause, just let me know.

Well, the design thing is intentional. These blocking elements are basically supposed to be part of the Quantum Slipstream drive. Two of the Tier 6 Vesta variants have a similar feature (and the Tier 5 Vesta has those deflectors grills which might serve a similar purpose.)

We probably have to assume that the remaining deflectors are effective enough at the reduced size (or the quantum slipstream thingy also provides deflector duty), and anything they can't handle is covered by the secondary deflector. Technology marches on.

The Bellerophon and Pathfinder (as well as other ships in that line) have a secondary deflector on the dorsal side of the hull as well, so any functional limitations would be mitigated by that, I'd imagine.

Then they need to redesign the visuals for the Assimilated Deflector Array. It's more than half embedded in the saucer bulge.

they need to do that anyway, because it looks ugly on a vast majority of ships (in fact, i can't think of ANY ship those stabby things look good on) and on small craft the borg greebles are bigger than the craft itself
Like special weapons from other Star Trek games? Wondering if they can be replicated in STO even a little bit? Check this out: https://forum.arcgames.com/startrekonline/discussion/1262277/a-mostly-comprehensive-guide-to-star-trek-videogame-special-weapons-and-their-sto-equivalents
