playing Star Trek Online for 7 years now,
i am pretty very familiar with all most of the mechanics
thats the reason i posted the E.P.S. YouTube link because he explans it so much better than i ever could.
if you concerned about the length
it is 34 minutes long
and because sarcasm detector speaks very slow you can use
YouTube to speed him up to 2x the speed that reduces the video 17 minutes.
( but 1.5 is perfect for the video )
This Report / Thread was made because i noticed something on tribble
that I never experienced before
Yes of course i have seen this kind of Power drop
but never had i ever this kind of Power Level behavior
to just freeze is very unusual
the Power levels always jumped up and down
depending of the Power transfer Rate it was slower or faster
The true Problem lies in the lower Ranks "leveling"
really is a nightmare
you get yourself a Lt. Commander (lv 20) ship with 4 weapons
becasue you don`t have the abilities you need to overcap
And you NEED to set you Power Settings to Weapons 100
otherwise you have 100 aux and 35 Weapons power
when you fire 2 energie weapons you drop to 5 power
and you deal a fraction of your base power, or the weapons go offline
the power stays low - 4 energy weapons = would result in a = 60 Weapon Power
so you get yourself 1 torpedos = to get up to = 70 Weapon Power
Escort - B.O. setup - 2 Engineer B.O. seats
which has to be both "Emergency Power to Weapons" ( 1 and 2 )
or "Engineering Team" and "Emergency Power to Weapons"
a crusier got enough B.O. seats to have two copies of "Emergency Power to Weapons"
otherwise you have to equip 2 Torpedos and fight at 60 Weapon Power.
with every level your Power Drop becomes more problematic
of course you get more Abilites and you can compensate
OK now try to play as a Science Captain in a Science Ship
on low level your Sci abilites are not able to bring that Space Magic
like in the endgame,
they don't have enough Tactical Seats and
not enough Engineering Seats
they have to suffer the full Weapon Power drop.
This all is the reason why i STILL think that this is a bug
I could imagen that
a error happend during the rework of the formula
for the Weapon Fire Cycle or what ever it is called
maybe ... accidentally deleted a part
that caused the Power refilling or a "+" became a "-" minus ....
like I already said , i have no idea ...... IF it is intented, it is weird
and
this hits the wrong kind of players
It looks like Cryptic have made weapons power more inline with the SFC series, with it being a capacitor, however, it still has miracle recharging, which doesn't exist with-in canon! They had weapons capacitors that had either huge reserve, or limited life. How many times were we told in the TV series that weapons were at such and such percent, hours after a battle? Or 'we have only enough power for 1 or 2 shots, but they will not make a difference'!
Fact is, we have been spoilt, and if Cryptic are bringing things back into line with canon, then I'm all for it. I just can't wait till they nerf Sector Speed to be inline with canon, then we can look forward to days between arrival to the nearest planet....lol
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
