    Hmmm
Simple, people either misunderstand what I wrote or deliberating twist my words around

    ...
This is the first time I seen third party vendors target players in game.

What makes you think I never seen this before? I seen this before many times. I usually just ignore the email and delete it from my inbox.

These are your own posts. You can see where the confusion is.... I hope.

Nope, the confusion is coming from you guys. Nowhere did I write that I never seen gold spammers in MMO gaming before. I did write I never seen third party vendors target players IN-GAME using the email server before but that a different issue altogether. I'm used to gold spammers using the chat box to target players in mmo gaming not the email server.

STO is the only MMO I've played, so I can't speak for others. Every so often I get an in-game mail offering me EC in exchange for real money- I just wish there was some way of knowing how many such scammers are actually out there as a portion of the playerbase.

It's been going on for years in Star wars: The Old Republic as well in the in-game mail system.

my advice, dont even go visit thier sites just to request to remove your names from thier list, they have keylogger code ready to steal and strip all you own for EC.
ignore list is growing and the STO team seem cant block them or pin point thier IP ports, the sellers use throw away accounts and make uncountable alts and accounts.

    added for edit:
3 party sites sell what they dont offically own, Cryptic owns all the pixels they created, it is illegal for anyone outside of the company to sell, and when if caught, you get banned.
also if visiting the questable sites and you get risk of keylogger code downloaded without your permissions or knowledges, keylogger compromised your computer and get access all to your accounts, banks, meds, and credit cards, even they will find other games you played that not cryptic.
3 party sellers broke the rules with CoC and EULA, and they ignore it.

    What's an IP port?

    What's an IP port?

There's no such thing per se, every computer connected to a network has an IP address, and data is transmitted from one computer to another through channels, or ports, which are assigned certain numbers. A computer's IP address is analogous to your main office telephone number, while the port represents your extension.
