What is the difference between Shield Regen and Shield Restoration?

I got two ship science console, which one is better Shield reg or Shield Restoration?

    Shield regeneration is the amount your shields regenerate, in or out of combat. Shield restoration is healing your shields in some way.

    Personally, it's a matter of preference to me. I like using a bit of both when I can afford it. Console-spacewise.
    Now a LTS and loving it.
    Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
    I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D

    Console wise, I agree, consoles boosting those stats are waste of a slot.
    Talking about shields in general, it's hard to call them useless as some have previously done. Of course focusing on your hull should be a priority, but shields make survivability much easier, even in queues with rampant drains (such as HSE). Tanks don't slot Reverse Shield Polarity just because they love the visuals. And many have thanked me for having Improved Tachyon Beam keeping their shields up.
