Duty Officer Roster full. Dismiss Holograms?

m311m311 Member Posts: 92 Arc User
It is full of green and blue except the Hologram R&D's.

They are bound to the account, should I just dismiss them?

What bonuses does hologram R&D actually gives because I see a purple R&D hologram in one of the stores?

Dismiss those if you're not using them. Even on my crafting chars I've dismissed most of them.

If the holographic Doff is the only one of that specialization, then don't dismiss it until you can replace it with a green, blue, or purple Doff.

You can also buy more Doff slots. Generally speaking 200 Doff slots should be enough for most players to actively do Doff missions on a regular basis.

The pile of holograms you get is a 'starter' set. Trash 'em as you get better ones.

The white R&D holograms you get for free don't give any bonuses for anything and are basically only useful if you have nothing else to use.

Don't hesitate to dismiss them once you have better doffs to replace them.

You can easily dismiss them. They are somewhat useful for "turn in some of your doffs for other stuff" kind of missions, but at the end of the day, any other doff can do that, too.

All the Greens and blues I have is giving me almost 100% on assignments right now with 10-20% critical rating.
I have two green research lab scientist for the R&D research. So I should start scrapping them right?

Research lab scis are tought. Dont scrap those until you have better ones for sure cuz theyre used for the daily r and d 5k assignments, amongst other things. And even the crappiest purple RLS is fairly expensive (around 4mil last i checked), if youre still starting out with limited resources. But what ruin said, do NOT upgrind at the academy. There is literally no ROI to be had there.

By upgrind, do you mean the project where you turn in 5 whites for 1 green, etc ?

Dismiss them, as for the greens, break them down and use on the fleet projects.
    Positive thoughts.

wasnt there a way to get the holograms back if you suddenly realize you had a hole in your DOFF roster? Either way, they're white, dump em

I would rather recommend to turn the greens into blues and the blues into purples at the academy to make room.

Do NOT do this, unless you have TONS of Dilithium to spare. There is much better use for Dilithium, anyways.

The basic package of holograms you get when you start R&D is, well, basic - they just make up a set of specializations that you might need for research projects (and other doff assignments, of course). They provide no bonuses, and IIRC they're bound, so can't be donated to fleet projects or traded in the "five white for one green" upgrind. Basically, they're there to fill in gaps in your specialization roster, and as soon as you've got anything better, you can ditch them.

You can make your own holograms using the replicator, with quality depending on your commendation rank in a given area. So, if you urgently need a particular specialization, you can just make one for EC. Even the higher-quality holo-doffs aren't particularly special, though. (I don't think I've ever bothered with this feature. For that matter, one of my toons still has an untouched package of R&D holo-doffs sitting in her bank; her roster was pretty full when this feature was rolled out, and I just never got round to opening the package. I should just delete it, really, I suppose.)

They are good on Epohh raising so you can reduce the chance of getting a colored Epohh, but that's it. If I raise a Forest Epohh, I want a Forest Epohh Elder not one I have to hunt around for to turn in for Marks. :)

I always pawn them off on the officer exchange missions. That way you get recruitment experience, and a free better doff.

I dismissed them the second I got them.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.
