Mission Doomsday Machine - can't select rewards

Hello, I'm trying to complete the Doomsday Machine mission on a Federation Temporal Agent science character. I can run the mission, meet all the objectives, including solving the temporal probe mini puzzle, and finally killing the doomsday machine itself. The problem is when I'm back in sector space and it's time to hold the A button and collect / choose a reward (and get my xp points). The mission summary comes up and they guy gives his little talk but when I hit the 'choose reward' button and then select any of the listed rewards, I can't confirm it. I've tried to run the mission twice now with the same result. This option to skip the mission is also not there (greyed out). Help!
