I think I got the Chel Grett when I had been playing for 6-9 months or so. Since I didn't have many high-end ships back then, I was very happy with a ship with 8 weapon slots, the ability to use cannons and so on.
I also thought it was much better than the Vesta - my first C-store ship purchase if I remember correctly. It was before I knew about Science even though my main was a Sci and I didn't understand why those Aux cannons were so weak lol. I basically bought it because there was a lot of enthusiasm within our fleet, didn't understand why after that disappointing first try in Cure space normal, but luckily I've learned a lot since then
Anyway, nowadays I don't really fly alien ships anymore so I don't really care for most designs. The Risian Corvette was an exception because we got a lot of customisation options, and I also like the Lukari one a lot as it seems to be the perfect exploration ship with the story surrounding it.
The Ho'guun is my favorite one at the moment, I think. If there were more species-specific ships that have some relation to the Federation (like an Andorian ship for the next Winter event) then I would probably fly those ships a lot as well.
True, I really can't think of one Breen Ship that sucks. I even enjoyed the Plesh Brek Raider, it was obviously squishy.. but really fun to play. All the Breen ships have been pretty awesome.

The raider one, the Plesh Brek. Raiders that aren't Klingon Birds of Prey suck. I remember when Plesh Brek came out as one of the holiday ships, people flew it quite a bit.
At first.
Then it was dropped wholesale by everyone and nobody uses it nor any other non-KDF BOP Raider. I haven't seen anyone play a Plesh Brek in years.
The "Raider" ship concept in this game has completely failed. You get as many weapons as a science vessel. Escorts can be made to be just as good in handling as a Raider and still pack 7 weapons and still be more sturdy. You can take some Cruisers and make them great damage dealing monsters with some surprisingly good handling. Raiders OTOH cannot escape the fact that they simply have fewer guns than 7 gun Escorts and even worse HP. The Raider Flanking bonus applies in a limited profile.
Nobody flies a "Raider" in this game, even some statistically decent ones in Tier 6, much less the T5U Plesh Brek which has even worse HP than them.
The only Raider worth its salt are KDF BOPs, and even then they got major issues for today's game. And I think more of us fly the BOP more for "I haz a BOP!" and the image of the ship than "I want to fly a Raider for X and Y benefits." Plesh Brek is simply one of the many Raider failures of STO.
The only Raider that isn't a BOP that you may find on an ultra-rare occasion is the Temporal one. It's actually much, much better than the KDF BOPs and even has Battle Cloaking. But you almost never see this ship, even then, people are likely flying it for the trait and then ditching it altogether.
If you want a fast flying Escort play packing a lot of power, you fly a proper Escort. Not a limp 6-gun Raider.
I don't really care how it stacks up against other ships, but you're absolutely right.
My only point was that I had fun in the Plesh Brek, which I did. No, it's not as strong as a Klingon Raider, and I fully admit I only flew it here and there just 'for fun.' Still, I had fun flying it.. I also like the Ouroboros too.. I don't care if it's 'the best' or not.. it's a fun ship to fly.

I use it all the time, it's a fun ship in it's own right. It's also not a particularly rare ship in PVE's and social zones from my experience (I've certainly never found it noteworthy when I see someone else flying one.) Reason? You said it yourself, it's like a KDF BOP but better (IMO because it's applying temporal abilities to what is, in every other stat [including seating configuration] a BOP. It's a good fit.) Plus it's multi-faction (so it's a very sensible C-store choice).
Anyway, to the topic my favorite event ship has been the Sarr Theln. I've used it for a drain-heavy build and I occasionally do go back to using it. Most event ships would fall under the category "grind through trait, forget" for me but the Breen dreadnought carrier fits a build I want to have.

Looking for something new to play? I've started building Foundry missions again in visual novel form!
Risian corvette and Breen Sarr theln carrier, because i actually used these for my main ships for a period and are good ships. The corvette cant be beat in some ways, would love to see a T6 version, with more teeth in firepower in the console rather than one with eng ability.

I fly a raider and it is the most fun ship i have ever had. I don't know who you have been playing with but I have seen plenty of raiders in the game. I migrated from playing dreads, to cruisers, to escorts, pilots and raiders. It's a matter of play style imo. And the temporal raider is not an "ultra-rare" occurrence even in highest-end content as far as I have experienced. Also, the KDF D4 is one of the best raiders in the game, a pilot and raider ship with temporal seating and 5x1 gun layout. Low hull doesn't mean you die a lot, the number of weapon slots doesn't equate to higher dps. Most of the time, it's how you build your ship and your piloting skills.
That being said I agree that the Plesk falls short in being a raider. And back to topic, my personal favorites are the Breen ships (because they look good and perform well for me) and the Risian Luxury Liner just for the lols. As for performance, I would go with the Vorgon Xyflus Heavy Escort.

The Vorgon escort. Was hoping the other two vorgon ships would be put into the game as lockbox prize/lobi, but maybe we're see them trickle in over the next two years on Risa.
I tried out the Lukari Science Vessel until level 5 mastery, then moved on. To each their own, but it just didn't move me.
That made me think back on my favorite event ship. I think it would have to be the Risian Luxury Cruiser. That thing was a blast, and it's what my Klingon Engie flew until the Qib was released.
Since Tier 6, if I had a favorite event ship I'd have to say the Chel Boalg. Flown with beams that thing is a lot of fun.
What's your favorite "event" ship?
I wouldn't call any of them a "favorite" of mine. The only thing I care about when it comes to event ships is the Admiralty card. That's all.

I take this observation by what I see in orbit around ESD, Qo'nos, and the space queues, to include the overplayed CSA and ISA. Even in TFA and such where people flock to because of it being the latest rep, Raiders are almost unheard of outside KDF BOPs.

It's like a mouse giving birth to 2 elephants.
2 fully grown, adult elephants.
