Dynamic patch failure: The connection was idle for too long - Foundry missions

I was trying to play some foundry missions. The message in the thread title poped after about 2 minutes of loading the foundry mission and it disconnected me to login window. I have tried a bunch more missions and all resulted in the same message. Other content works fine.

Any attempt to play any mission resulted on DYNAMIC PATCH FAILURE: THE CONNECTION WAS IDLE FOR TOO LONG
After about 3 tries again i was taken to the login screen. I've logged in again, and a windows poped asking to login Normally or Safe. I have chosen Normal Login, then it crashed to desktop with Cryptic error asking what i was doing at the moment of crash.

Please check this and ... maybe fix it.

Do you have on-demand patching enabled or disabled? (check the options in the launcher.)

it is enabled.
I've disabled it and it shoveled down about 3 gigs.
Problem persists tho with either on-demand enabled or disabled.

Same issue for me. Tried to do disable the on-demand patch, but the issue remains.

Hello, I am having the same issue. I'm tried doing some missions by the same author and also received the Dynamic Patch Failure message and crash. I noticed this after the last patch. I'm hoping this will be resolved soon and I enjoy the Foundry missions.

Same here. I thought it was just me. It's most distressing. I WANT MY FOUNDRY MISSIONS!

I have the same problem. Which is annoying, to say the least. I can also confirm, that on-demand patching has no effect. For me, this started with the last patch.

Experienced it multiple times as well. Have on-demand patching disabled from beginning. Did safe log-in and force verify. Problem still persists.

Keep going with the troubleshooting. Has anyone tried re-installing STO? If that checks out then we can say with a little more certainty that Cryptic may need to investigate some stuff on their end.

It seems to be affecting all missions. I even republished one of mine. It appears to be affecting all missions.

Have tried it on two different machines, one of which it had to be installed on. Have also tried it from two different unrelated ISPs. My at home ISP as well as my work ISP using a university backbone. Both computers and both locations I get the same errors. It doesn't matter what foundry missions I try.

Yep was trying to get some ec and xp while leveling my new Tos agent and foundry is not working.

Can Reviews be Disabled Temporarily.

Sadly in Situations like this, people tend to throw their blame at the authors in the Form on 1 Star Reviews.

Maybe this helps your troubleshooting.

If you take on a foundry mission that you play regularly since before the latest patch. It will disconnect you with the dynamic patch failure message.
If you try to log in again and choose the "normal" log in when prompted, you will end up in the foundry mission. (I assume that's because you already have it downloaded since playing it before the patch) And this is probably because the auto patching in the loading screen does not start when logging directly in to the mission.

So, in short.

Going into a foundry mission from inside the game = disconnect.
Logging directly into the mission = Success.

Like I said. This is probably because the auto patching does not activate when logging directly in to the mission from the login screen(character selection)

So the issue is most likely a bad "address"/call from the auto-patcher, or something similar.

What mission are you running? Someone else tried something similar but their character just got locked up

I was running admiral Bobo. But Now it seems to be working as it should again. :) I guess they found the little critter in the machine. ^^

Another Foundry issue I noticed is both of my missions have gone missing yet I never unpublised them myself, or received any notification they were flagged or removed by the system for whatever reason - and they've been up since 2009 (except when there have been the auto-republish situations announced after major patches or expansions; and they had been up after this latest Season 12 patch.

My patcher keeps on saying CONNECTION WAS IDLE FOR TOO LONG, I unplugged my router, and it keeps on saying it. Can someone please help me?

Joshuaston0116, this thread has to do with the Foundry and not the launcher. Please post in the correct section of the forums in Support and choose the correct section for the bug you wish to report. Otherwise, you just necroed a thread.
