K9 Non-Combat Pets

I love the K9 Pets, But is there any rhyme or reason to the current choices? (Beagle, Rottweiler)
I'd love to see a German Shepherd. They're canon as well.
In Voyager a German Shepherd barks and growls at the crew when they stumble upon the barn, and in DS9, Odo disguises himself as a German Shepherd to scout the US Army Air Corps base in 1947.

    51 + 1 Foundry Character Slots is NOT enough. Some of us love our characters. If I want to buy more character slots, why can't I? I couldn't experience the entire Delta Recruitment event without deleting a character.

    The Iconians themselves can't time travel because their memories revert, but there is nothing to say an Iconian couldn't write everything she needed to do on a PADD, pin it to herself, travel back, read the PADD, do the tasks and return. Or just get one of her Non-Herald underlings to go back in time for her.

    Oh yeah, I do Foundry missions for both KDFs and Feds. Just search KSTF (Short for Kinas Special Task Force, where Kinas is the name of the Admiral you will be serving under). The earlier ones are less story based and more combat based, while the later ones have a much heavier story element, but keep the large battles.

    I know Porthos is why there is beagles, and i just remembered the mirror porthos was a rott. But why not add other breeds? German shepherds were in Star Trek, many others were as well, Including Irish Setters.

    James T Kirk's dog, Butler, was a Great Dane in the main univese, but recall something in the books in the mirror universe it was also a Rottweiler.
    And I believe one of the ingame Rottweilers is named Butler.

    If they ever add Corgis, they better name one of them Drei (german for 3).

    K-9 is legendary in Doctor Who. A more faithful and selfless companion you'd need to look far and wide for.

    Unfortunately, when they released the hounds (Beagles) they released, I believe four different versions, with the Porthos one the rarest, in a typical Cryptic fashion. The one most wanted was the least likely, ensuring poor old Porthos would go from 60 to 150 million.
