Question about the Armada system

I play on Xbox1. The Armada system is set to launch on Feb. 14. I would like to know how influetial is the Alpha vs. Beta fleets? Doesn't it seem better to be a Beta? If you don't get along with anyone you can drop whatever. Or is that really an issue? Does it matter if you get along with fleets? (other than the obvious) How much power does a single fleet have on another in an Armada?

I ask because my fleet is in talks with a few others about Armada. And I am just asking the questions that come to my mind while I can't sleep.

Thanks for reading!

With the several armadas I've been in there's a been a general policy of non-interference between fleets and how they're run ( i.e. which of your projects are open to the armada for donations). Doesn't mean it doesn't happen at times though. It shouldn't be about "power" but the health of the armada for the benefit of the players.

How much power does one fleet have over another? The alpha may kick any beta which would include any gammas with them, a beta may kick any gamma. Which is the best position to be in? If you're relatively low level and building gamma gets the best dilithium discounts with lesser boosts. Beta is a balanced, alpha is more about the boost.

Joining an armada should involve some discussion before hand as to expectations which will give you a better chance at finding member fleets that will get along, with a good mix of higher and lower level fleets.

One thing that seems to work well is fleets being familiar with the others beforehand. In one of ours one fleet's leaders are officers in other member fleets, so we all know each other well and chat and game together regularly. This really helps a lot.

    Best of luck.

An Armada is what you can make it to be. The one I am in, everyone and every fleet has equal status, with no interference in Fleet Ops from the others. The only difference is the bonuses for Alpha, Beta and Gamma. As the other poster stated, Alpha and Beta's have kick permissions, but you can alter Contribution permissions to and from your own fleet.

Lastly, if an Armada even attempts to 'charge' you for the privilege of being there, walk away.....fast! They are not worth the hassle!
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

Thanks for the info. We have been doing a lot of research and looking for other fleets. Its a bit more difficult on Xbox one because no one really chats in local/zone. We have a good core of fleets now. So this should be fun! Cheers!
