Rhode Island Bundle

in Star Trek Online General Discussion
The Federation needs a dedicated Frigate bundle so why not base it on the Rhode Island class. Take it beyond being just a Science vessel by adding a Tactical & Egineering version. The tier 5 verions are very fun to play but need to be upgraded,we have been waiting since Delta Rising. Get on the ball Cryptic.

    Reyan, all DR gave us was VOYAGER. So we got the pathfinder instead. But they should of done a two piece since Rhode Island was featured so heavily.

    as I stated before, I couldn't care less if they ever made a T6 Nova.
    She is fine as she is. FleetT5U is just fine

    I just want them to update the model.

    I'd love a T6 Nova. And I'm pretty sure it will happen eventually. I'd also love a T6 Norgh (Ning'tao skin best skin), but unfortunately that one is less likely.

    The new multi-mission ships are Science + temporal shenanigans spec'd (again...). A tiny little thing like the Rhode Island is begging to be a Science + pilot spec. With the exception of the Na'kuhl Lobi store ship that's actually NEW territory.

    Let me add to this;

    I remember Equinox as one of my top 3 fav Voyager episodes. It was epic. The bridge and Nova class ship were very special. I remember seeing it for the first time, it was a mix between voyager but with Enterprise-E elements. It was a DAMNED COOL ship.
    Then to see the Rhode Island as Kim's chosen command made a statement about the Nova class & its refit.

    If I wasnt such a TOS nerd, and I had to live in post Ds9 era, I'd def want a Nova/rhode island. Cryptic really did strangely miss the boat on this one... Then again i think we didnt have t6 ships yet did we? Or maybe they were new...
    The nova class bridge with radiogenic life form modifications (those pipes going in and out of consoles) woulda been awesome.... (and Naughty!)

    I think the Nova deserves a remodel and t6 version. So does the Miranda.
    New original ships are fab... But canon ships are so important and should always be prioritized because the simple fact is players want their davorite ships from the show and movies!

    The Prometheus appeared in two episodes, although the second appearance was extremely brief ('Endgame' - was very briefly seen with the fleet near the end of the episode).
    Not to be picky but the Prometheus is in three as its seen in the battle of procian 5 in Enterprise
    Im kinda done with new fed ships there is so many that i have and done use anymore, but i would be interested in a T6 Nova its my favorite tier 2 ship.

    I'm all for a T6 Nova (after I get my T6 22nd century Intrepid that is ... please Cryptic please!!!!), STO has already designated, at least in terms of NPCs, the Miranda and it's variants as the Federation's "frigates"

    they should desgnate nova as a corvette class somewhere inbetween frigate and light cruiser, and yes the nova is in need of a T6 variant.

    Tier 6 nova? HELL YES. And make it a 3 set while we're at it. A science Raptor for the Klingons, and a Science Dhelean for the Romulans.

    That one's just a Poser model I use for my art. But, yes, it has side windows....in a small ship like that one, things might be a bit cramped in there, so the big windows might help alleviate some some of the claustrophobia, and the cabin fever that might happen.

    I still think it's funny that kit bashing with the RI/Nova gave me the most Vengeance-looking ship in the game until the actual Vengeance became available... Little beast has a menacing silhouette ;).

    SS Sarajevo NC-27, it's one of Earth Starfleets 5 (6 if you count the Franklin) proper Starships.

    Huh, didn't recognize it, actually thought it was supposed to be a dominion war era ship until I looked at the page you linked, lol. Doesn't look anything like the other ent era ships.

    Not from that angle no. From the back you can see it better. The Emmette, Warp Delta, NX, NV, NX, & Franklin all share a very similar rear section with a curved V shaped cut out arround similar impulse blocks. There's also the baffles over the engines that match on them all.

    But that's exactly why DR would have been the ideal time to have actually done something with it. I mean, lets look at the other Starfleet ships of any significance that appeared during Voyager's run:
    For Delta Rising itself however, they didn't have the time to do more than the ships they did. (They also had to do all those Intel ships, after all)

    It doesn't really mean much that they haven't gotten to the Nova yet. I suspect that it will still take some time since they released a big Science pack just after a small Science pack, but that doesn't mean there will never be a Nova.

    Remember, the Nova was the first ship to get a Tier 2 Refit. So they clearly saw it having potential.


    I don't think there will be a pack. The Nova is a single ship at any Tier it exists. It won't suddenly turn into 3. They might invent or use a Klingon or Romulan ship to put in a cross-faction pack. It will likely also never get a full spec, since it's a pre-existing ship and they have never done so for a C-Store ship.


    There will be other opportunities to bring back the Nova. Maybe they'll do another episode with Harry Kim and the Rhode Island, for example. There aren't that many ships where they can actually have a Trek alumni basically advertising the ship.

    We just got two different Science 3-packs as well as a science ship for the anniversary in a 3-month space. This seems to be the year of science, I think you guys are going to get your wish.

    I do hope that they make the Nova a T6, its a nice looking design and has some bite.

    Ok, one part of me thinks it would be hilarious to make the RI/Nova available as Science/Healbot themed frigates for the Jupiter and any Fed carriers released in the future ;).

    The real question is 'what are the combat capabilities of the Nova'? Just how powerful is that little ship?
