Year 7 Celebration Accolade???

in Star Trek Online General Discussion
Does anyone know how one gets the Celebration Accolade for year 7? Last year it was triggered by playing the Omega minigame, but not this year?

    They can give it after the end of the event. I think it was so in one of previous anniversary events.

    Curious as to the point of any of them? Or is it like the Captains Table.

    Like any Achievement system there is no "point" to them. It's simply a fun way of keeping track of game progress and accomplishments.

    The point is to continue the series that they started. Abandoning the Celebration: Year____ series now just smacks of laziness.
    This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.

    Makes no difference to me. I rather Cryptic spends time to fix bugs that actually affects gameplay (or lack thereof).

    This is a tiny amount of actual work, and probably not by someone that would be fixing a bug. The base graphic is there, the reward mechanism is there, someone just forgot to do it.

    That was an inconsistent tradition, not celebrated until the third possible time, then celebrated for 3 straight years, then dropped for one year, then brought back as giveaways the next year. As far as the mission goes, they got too clever for themselves by expanding it and tying it timeline-wise to one specific event, the looming Undine threat between Step Between Stars and Surface Tension. I'd like to see it brought back, personally, simply by making it generic again. Anything more than that would require some extra work every year that might not always fit in the update schedule, which is why it was dropped. The Anniversary, however, is always a significant part of the development schedule, with a significant release timed specifically for it every year.
    This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.

    At this point in the game, Accolades are dead. We lost so many because of content removal. I know people who were fervent collectors who were only one or two Accolades away from having them all, but they were unable to obtain those last few because some of the Accolades were either broken or removed. It's kind of sad, especially for those who did find some entertainment in collecting them.

    *sigh* event over.
    I wish they at least would do like they did a couple of years ago and retroactively add the accolade to anyone and everyone who scanned at least one omega molecule.
    I got an unbroken line of year accolades on my main toon that's looking kind of empty without "year 7" :(

    By having Cryptic award it in a month or two when they get around to creating one.

    Isn't the first year that has happened either.

    By the way, looking at the in-game calendar for next month shows us that First Contact Day/Day of Honor/Republic Day as an in-game event is coming back this year. What the actual mission and rewards will be is anyone's guess.
