With the new restrictions on being able to do things with more than 50 (and a few other numbers, for other actions) items in my overflow, I'm suddenly not allowed to do things—even though there's only 16 items in my main character's overflow bag. One of those suddenly forbidden actions is the Omega Stabilization daily, so there's a need to get that solved.
OK, so removing everything did clear that up. Still 16 is less than 50, so its still a bug. I was told to type "/lootcancel," but it failed. Only removing/deleting everything manually worked.
This indeed is an objective bug - Same here on less than <50 items in the overflow. All was working fine before the server maintenance of this morning.
Dear developers, why is it that every time maintenance occurs, something weird appears to happen .. ? (There's a pattern forming here). Please .. Revert .. Thank you.
Yeah, and maybe one of these days they will fix up the Overflow Bag as well. All non-Combat Pets go in there automatically and you generally have to shut the Client down and restart to get the Bag to open.

Meanwhile I've read the page in the news section, about this update (The guy's post above got me thinking) It is a nice factual article - yet it fails to mention why this overflow thing was implemented. As it sits, for customers, this doesn't really help to go and purchase a life-time account.
Still getting the 'bug' however, with less than 50 items - While there are def. way less than 50 ..
1. In friend's case it was a console (universal in this specific case) in overflow bag which had caused the "less than 50 error" noted above with ~10 items only in the overflow bag (creating warnings and making the char practically non functional by limitations as are for 50+ items which are noted in the patch notes page). I am unsure of more details here. Removing the console would probably help here.
On a second note in this specific regard, I wonder if items like doff from Starbase could have also cause a general block of the overflow bag for other items and a 50+ item warning and limitations, though the error I received differ. Off course I didn't (purposely) test that (with other item types or by messing up more with overflow bag) though when encountered the following issue. See bellow for a description of that other overflow bag issue.
2. I personally was actually losing items - bound level 15 white quality specialist(s) with active powers, while trying to doff for fleet project donations in Starbase with ~93-94 doffs in roster and ZERO items in overflow bag (to start with), which eventually became ONE doff in the overflow bag. I donated only NON bound doffs (the doffs I wanted to keep were AoY related R&D reward and bound ones), tried to release the doff from overflow/directly donate, but it turned out I've lost the bound doff I wanted to keep despite not seeing any bound doff marked for donation at any point, and yet seeing it on the list before that. Since I was tired it seems have been I hadn't learn from my mistake/this occurrence that it's an actual item loss, and lost another bound such. However, I wasn't tired enough then to accidentally actively delete/donate etc any bound wanted one second and third in the initial list) which I wanted to keep.
Regarding the second issue, I don't remember details (regarding things like: item name/properties, if disappeared when I released from overflow or things donated directly or one of those potential occurrences happened after another, did I press select all and then carefully unselected the bound ones (initially second and third on list) as my way of donating only non bound ones (this is likely), how many times I pressed after 1st error of roster full received at having one item there (could be I pressed some times out of a habit of the recent yet already old overflow size/behavior), was the needed doff becoming unbound so I accidentally didn't notice (if any dev sees this, please check if items falling into overflow bag might silently become non bound by accident, as it may be a cause of an accidental lose of items like white doffs during donation) or otherwise just silently automatically donated/deleted* instead after something being released from overflow, was it restored then gone or was it other doff etc) and also can't write this all in order so can't bug report/send a good enough ticket, but putting this here... Note that I didn't try to exploit anything, just to donate doffs from Starbase as I normally did before.
*Count of donated doffs hints indeed those two were donated and not deleted though.
P.S. I was especially p*ssed off because 1. I've lost items (though those items itself are not so important) 2. who knows what else could happen/what else could be lost or changed and 3. I especially cleared all my char's overflow bag into zero before that <censored> patch applied, just in case, despite having less than 50 items on each char's overflow bag and was still being hit.
Edit: For completeness I add that it all seems fixed for me and seemingly in general. I can't speak for others though. Anyway, thank you for fixing

Can't turn in anniversary mission
Can't complete Rep project
Can't get item out of storage (really helps to clean things up!)
.. and so on ..
Tested on mule character, was full of data pads (thanks but I never picked these up?) had to destroy overflow completely
Would be nice to confirm fix, or is it like last time when they duplicated the overflow, months later get a .. delete all your stuff loosers.
