whats wrong with launching sto?

it seems like i cant launch sto via the standalone launcher . please help me

    What happened to me was this-

    First time, it hung forever at the loading screen, then eventually dumped me back to the login screen you get if you are DC or you logout. There was some message about "account authentication ticket expired blah blah blah support button". So I logged in again and everything went as usual. I'm in and the lighting looks incredibly ghey...

    For me STO was on loading for >10 mins - killed process.
    Restarted game - waited for a few mins and got sent back to login screen with the account authentication error - re-logged in from there and got in okay

    I had a Timeout changing character about the time OP posted, so it was probably due to the number of people logging in more than anything.

    For me, it is the launcher crashing. I made a thread about it here.
    I completed a 2-man CSE, ISE, and KASE, Optionals included. And I soloed Winter Invasion.

    OP, you've got the loading screen bug. Try opening the STO launcher>Options>Safe mode. It might help.
    It's not a lag issue. It's the game data. Make sure your settings in the STO launcher are all turned off.

    Edit: That's the STO Launcher. NOT the Arc one.
