Legendary Gold Boff!

Nope. Sorry. I know you got your hopes up, but there isn't one here.

Instead, there is a question: If there was a Gold Boff (Unique/Legendary) - What would you think it should involve?

I trust you have some ideas? ;)

    ah. hmm.. forgot about that one. Give me a minute. Got to check something...

    There's this list, Gold level Boffs on it, just the standard Specials. So I guess that kinda kills this whole thread. Not what I was aiming for...

    Yep. But was discussing Bridge Officers, not Duty ones. :)

    There are actually so few Gold Boffs, it just slipped my mind that there were any at all. So was trying to set up a thread for a 'new concept', which fell flat, because there ARE some Gold Boffs. One or two anyway.

    there aren't ANY gold boffs; just because the border is gold, doesn't mean the boff itself is - in the case of the admiral leeta mentioned above, its rarity is still listed as Very Rare​​

    yes. was about to post that, since I was just looking at it. It does have the Gold border, but only Very Rare (purple) Ranking.

    Boffs can have 4 traits. Common Boffs have 2 Basic and 2 Standard traits. Uncommon has 1 Basic trait and 3 Standard traits. Rare has 1 Basic, 2 Standard and 1 Superior trait. Very Rare has 2 Superior and 2 Standard traits.

    Therefore, Ultra Rare would have 3 Superior and 1 Standard trait while Epic would have 4 Superior traits.

    What? Which ones are gold? What makes them gold? Other BOFFs' traits are what determine their rarity. So, what makes a gold BOFF gold?

    None.
    Holo Leeta has a gold border which confused the issue, since is turns out she's only Very Rare quality.

    Salazarraze said it best so far:

    Boffs can have 4 traits.
    - (White) Common Boffs have 2 Basic and 2 Standard traits
    - (Green) Uncommon has 1 Basic trait and 3 Standard traits
    - (Blue) Rare has 1 Basic, 2 Standard and 1 Superior trait
    - (Purple) Very Rare has 2 Superior and 2 Standard traits (This is the standard Quality for Special Boffs)

    - (Two-toned Purple) Ultra Rare would have 3 Superior and 1 Standard trait

    - (Gold) Epic would have 4 Superior traits.

    Personally, I think they should have a some unique features for the last two groups in addition to any Race traits, etc. But since they don't exist, they could be anything from unique traits (several) to other things. The question is, what would make truly Legendary Gold Boffs?

    Also, I personally think the QUALITY of a Boff should be upgradeable, at least somewhat...

    Well, I submitted a proposal through these forums a couple of years ago now, that dealt with BOFFs, which even suggested the idea of Epic Level BOFFs.

    To be fair, they already are "somewhat" upgradeable. You can grant them specializations and all boffs come with a single power per rank but you can train them with additional powers.

    Yes... but a Green Boff is still only just a Green Boff, with all the limitations that includes.

    Yes... but a Green Boff is still only just a Green Boff, with all the limitations that includes.
    People can't be upgraded as genetic engineering is banned in the Federation. Not sure about the KDF though I would assume that it's at the very least, dishonorable.

    I don't know, a twelve-armed Borg Boff with it's limiters turned-off might come in handy in a bar brawl.

    Tzenkethi Epic Defector Boff- Special Skills for lols: Badassery, Chewing Bubblegum and Kicking Butt, and he ran out of Bubblegum, Grenadier, and Super-Mega-Awesome Martial Artist.

    Special Skils for real: Protomatter Resistence, Grendade specialist, superior hand-to-hand, Superior Intelliect.

    He's not the Tzen we need, he's the Tzen we deserve!
