Upgrading quality problem

in PC Gameplay Bug Reports
Used an omega upgrade and a x2 research booster on a mk2 very rare beam
Quality increase at mk5
After increase the chance dropped to 30%
normal upgrade till mk7 then on upgrading to mk8 the quality chance dropped from 30% to 4%
no quality increase!

I'm assuming that's many colours of wrong.
Is this a bug or just an evil mechanic?

    It's punishment for using 5 mil worth of stuff for a 30% chance to make something currently selling on the exchange for 3mil to 6mil :smile:

    It's the regular exchange. Even now cheapest Epic Beam arrays
