Delta recruit trapped on first map - wai?

Finished my Temporal agent and wanted to give my KDF Delta Recruit some love. I made him back than an left him on the first map. Unfortunately I now can't leave this map through the turbo lift because any button I could interact with is missing. Is this working as intended?

Starfleet academy and the klingon academy have the beam up buttons disabled as they are bound to an ops button and i find if i switch characters whilst parked on one of those maps my next character's beam up button is often disabled requiring a map instance change, transwarp to mission start from the active quest menu or game quit to fix. Not sure if the circumstances are the same for you?

Unfortunately neither of these mentioned possibilities works. I have no access to instance change, nor is there a button like in the Academy map and I don't have access to the mission menu since the Delta recruit is still level 0. Btw. I don't know how many times i quit the game to fix this . No beam up button either it's grayed out - like Academy map
I remember there was once a map change button when you entered the turbo lift, but this button has vanished in the cyber limbo.

Ok, brainstorming other methods for leaving a map. Can you access your episodes tab and skip any missions to add the next to your quest list for transwarp? Can you beam to your bridge or others. Can a friend send you a bridge invite. Can you get a fleet commander to do you a fleet map invite? Can you team with someone else's Delta recruit who can share the next mission with you?

Can you talk to Lt K'Gan to progress the mission? Not sure which map it starts on as I missed KDF at the time it was running. But I did check out an online walkthrough and after K'Gan there is a console you need to do something on and then holosuite combat training.
