To me, those screaming "it wrecks cannon!" are just sad neck beards like Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons.
Hell, we could say Billie Dee Williams blowing up a giant space station, a brand new one at that, in a decades old rust bucket is to the same degree, yo.
I assume it's a mater of perception. In the shows/movies, older models are (eventually) replaced with newer ones.
STO, on the other hand, is a celebration of ALL series of Star Trek (even some of the books and comics).
So, from the perspective of shows and movies, bringing back "old" designs is odd. For STO though, it's just another day of lockbox ludicrousness and temporal shenanigans. If you will excuse me, the Borg are (once again) trying to alter history and they need their bi-hourly beatdown.

DIY ...23c fix it.
Someone was asking for a way back to the 23c map so they could get stuff there.
dude, you can still make STO characters, now here is the trick
from the starbase, go to your bridge, the crew deck...in a conference room there is access
to your account back.
mission accomplished.
you can give your 23c credits via high tier TRIBBLE weapons he can recycle in replicator
and he can buy all your 23c goodies and transfer them in account bank.
want to level up and not leave 23c ?
don't do last mission there and replay the others

Join a fleet. Get K-13 holding to T3. And live in the 23c in your 23c starbase, buying 23c weapons, boff powers, boffs and doffs.
BOLD MATHEMATICAL PREDICTION: I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that those of us on the forums here, who also have a T6 Temporal Light Cruiser ... the majority are in a fleet. So can make K-13 their path to living in the 23c a realistic goal.
Well, here's your chance to win a TEMPORAL LIGHT CRUISER.
Infinity R&D Pack Promotion - Likely to be released after maintenance this week. The ship might be listed on the Exchange for 750m EC. The best advice I can give is to buy the R&D Packs when this promo goes live, then sell them on the Exchange to raise funds to hopefully buy the ship.
I get the sneaking hunch that the Kelvin Constitution prices are being kept high. Wait until the contents of the Kelvin Lockbox get added to the Infinity. Should be a nice drop then.

I'm glad TOS fans are getting another chance to drop their dough or roll the dice. I hope more people win, I never run into other Connies anymore, and I've yet to see a T6 D7 or T'liss in-game.

The Constitution is what I use.
Let's see how fast the comic book guy wannabes are gonna be licking their lips at selling those crazy stupid prices.
Yeah, it was nice in orbit over DS9 with my Bulwark having two other ones there as well. No more 4 Billion EC sales for that puppy. I have the feeling that we will start seeing more of the Infinity R&D Promo ships in game after a whole month of the Promotion. And the prices dropping so they show up on the Exchange. The Strike Ship and Annorax have already found their way there.
This may do for Promo Ships what the Infinity Lockbox did for Lockbox Ships. It will be glorious.

Putting the iconic TOS ships in a gamble box is an attempt to gouge players. It is clear that if these ships were placed in the Zen store at a reasonable price, they would sell well. I feel this is not about making a profit but making a killing off the customers. I have been playing since launch and find this very alienating. I would like to buy these ships but I will not support these kinds of sales decisions. For this reason, I have no plans to spend any additional money on the Zen store. I encourage anyone who is also upset over this to do the same.
Well prices for the"original" Promo R&D Pack that rewards one of the 3 "TOS era" T6 starships have dropped from around 28m EC on the Exchange to around 15m EC. That's good news for players still interested in gunning for one of these ship.

Yeah, they will sell well, as stated by reyan01, Cryptic can earn more money by making them random drops from promo packs.
The release of the Phoenix Pack and the announcement of the Infinity R&D Pack Promotion means that Cryptic is offering players a chance to win something they missed out on. That means items are no longer exclusive. Although the chance to win these items are very low (roughly 1% for Promo R&D Packs vs. roughly 0.5% for lockboxes); it is an opportunity available to all players should they decide they want to gamble.
I might open a few just for the thrill of it; though I expect nothing in return other than the typical R&D mats.
Conversely, while I put in real money, I'm also running the Arc Quests and have gotten THREE TIMES as much free zeni from that as it took me to get both an Annorax and a T6 Connie. They literally give money away and most people can't be bothered to cup their hands let Cryptic pour coin into it.

By that standard:
The Galaxy Class T6 is 'cannon wrecking' as it's a 60 year old design. EVERY hero ship from any show set in the 2370ies in the Star Trek Prime Universe is 50 years old, and hell in the DS9 episode "The Visitor" (set 50 years in the future); the Defiant was retired and had to be brought out of monthballs; and in TNG's "All Good Things" - 25 or so years in an alternate future - the only reason the Galaxy Class (well Galaxy-X) Enterprise D isn't decommissioned is due to Admiral Riker; but no - I guess it's only series you don't care for whose ships are 'canon-wrecking'.

First you had to fill in questionaires, at some very shady sites, that did all sorts of unsavory tracking, and were flagged several times by my AntiMalwareBytes software. Nowadays they want you to go install and play their other fantasy-games for a while. I have no interest in that either. More power to those that collect Zen this way; but instead of cupping my hands for a bit of Zen, I just choose to keep em clean altogether.
What are you on about? I've NEVER had a questionnaire from Arc. Or been directed to another "shady site". Its all internal to the Arc launcher.
Nowadays they want you to go install and play their other fantasy-games for a while.
Flat out wrong. You need to install as many as you care to (my hard drive is old and small and still gobbled up a dozen or so without blinking) and launch them. You don't have to go any further than the launcher to trigger the associated Arc Quest counter.
...instead of cupping my hands for a bit of Zen, I just choose to keep em clean altogether.
For the money they've given me, it was no big deal to buy a little soap . And my soap of choice: Kaspersky has never raised so much as an eyebrow at Arc or the other PW games.

These will still be rare and still worth a lot of money.
I doubt you'll see them on the exchange.
Maybe they just got permission to run these twice or only during the 50th anniversary year.

I agree the upgrade packs from the Phoenix are awesome. I should have just stuck with those instead of using uncommons for more boxes to get a ship.
Terrible rng odds as usual.

This is me not worrying about it as I get ready to open some R&D packs looking for a Sheshar .
