If you're LTS, the T6 vet ship comes with a very interesting trait. It gives you a damage buff for using both torpedoes and energy weapons.

Supercharged Weapons (T6 tactical flagships): Firing a torpedo will provide a stack of the Super Charged buff. This buff provides a +10% boost to directed energy weapon damage, +1.5% critical hit chance and +6.66% critical severity for 20 seconds. This buff stacks up to 3 times.

Weapon System Synergy (T6 veteran rewards ships): Each time a directed energy weapon is activated on your ship, you will shunt a small amount of power to your projectile emitters. This is represented by building up stacks of Weapon System Synergy. Upon reaching 10 stacks, your projectile weapons will become primed and deal an additional +25% damage with +50% shield bleedthrough if launched in the next 10 seconds. After this expires there is a 20s lockout window before you can begin building up Weapon System Synergy stacks again.

Two sides of the same coin- er, ship. Namely the front and back sides :). I used to run both of them together trying to squeeze competitive performance out of canon-friendly torp/directed energy hybrid builds, but in reality each of them is designed for ships that have torpedoes facing in only one direction (SW for fast cycling forward facing, WSS for high impact rear-facing). Unfortunately if you run both at the same time they tend to step on each other badly.

I still say a single KT torpedo in a front slot and Supercharged Weaponry makes for one of the most compact and aggressively synergistic options in the game. The [reload] mod they all come with gives them silly high DPS with no further investment of BOff abilities or ship slots and 100% up time on SW is one of the beefiest buffs on any single Starship trait available (directed energy weapons gain +30% damage, +4.5% CrtH and +20% CrtD... are you crazy??!?). It's literally fire-and-forget = MELT FACE. I tend to feel like even on dual cannon builds, if you're in a 4/4 ship you should think about putting a KTT up front, and if you're in a 5/3 you should definitely try it :). Plus Kelvin Timeline Torps are account bound, so you only need one to try it out with any ship in your entire account.

Thanks for sharing your builds and knowledge @e30ernest @peterconnorfirst @seaofsorrows (and others). While I don't copy builds looking at what others do is always food for thought. Experimentation and trying different things is what keeps this game fresh. You all represent excellence in game knowledge and the willingness to help others. Kudos :)

Always glad to help. Now I'm looking forward to seeing what you're going to build.
