Looks like the next one will be the Nebula-class, going by the new model(s) over on Tribble: https://reddit.com/r/sto/comments/5df4qk/new_nebula_model_on_tribble/
    U.S.S. Endeavour NCC-71895 - Nebula-class
Commanding Officer: Captain Pyotr Ramonovich Amosov

I wouldn't so much as call that new as I would reskinned.

Strictly speaking, we have a T6 Multi-Mission science ship, it's just not a T6 Vesta. The Eternal-class 31st century science ship bears the Multi-Mission designation, and is at least superficially similar to the Vesta (in terms of capabilities, obviously not so much in terms of appearance).

Yeah but they normally only put that much effort into redoing a ship if there's a newer version coming. So i guess a new Nebula might be on the cards?
Same thing happened with the Intrepid, Akira and Sovereign classes right before a new T6 version was released.

"Maybe" the KDF and Romulans will each finally get a Nebula counterpart as a bonus. More science vessels!

Well I didn't notice anything new there yet. BUt... there isn't a new nebula skin yet either. the Venture Variant, and Phoenix variant are both usable without buying a new ship.

Last 2 times they did reskins it was followed by T6 release of that ship. (Galaxy, Sovereign.)

More then likely, a T6 Nebula is in the works. Rather or not you would consider that a 'new' ship or not.. I guess that's a matter of opinion.

That's what I'd bet on, unless the Nebula gets paired with a T6 Vorcha and...other Romulan warbird. As much as the FED gets the grief on the forums being the only thing that ever gets content, multi-faction ship groups/packs are the more thing in STO. We didn't get one with the Sovy so chances are we'll see KDF and ROM ships with the next C-store release.

Anyway, I think a T6 Neb would be a good excuse to finally check that box in the KDF/ROM T6 (native) shipyard. During the winter event would seem like a good time too. The popular reflex "BUT I DHONT FLY SPIENCE!" will probably be at its minimum. If you don't like this, you've got an event ship or two Sovies lick the screen for.

Too many science vessels in this game.

Did you know when the nebula appeared in TNG it wasnt classified as a "science vessel". If fact those designations dont exist in star trek really.

The Klingons and Romulans would disagree with you. Especially the Klingons.

I think it's a little late to be arguing against a part of the game's core format. Yes, the show never called the Nebula class a science vessel (nor the Intrepid) but it's a useful distinction to make in this video game because these ships cater to one of the three class choices (and it's useful to be able to refer to that in one or two words). I don't believe the Akira, Prometheus, and Defiant were ever called escorts either. For that matter, when were the Galaxy or Sovereign ever called cruisers? For a script, "Starship" was all one really needed to talk about the fleet. For a game, with gameplay mechanics, we need more categories.

Also, for fun go ahead and list out all the T6 FED cruisers that you can get without a promo or lock box. Compare that to the list of T6 Science vessels. You'll be surprised. Here, I'll show you.

    Here's Cruisers
    Eclipse
    Guardian
    Galaxy
    Galaxy-X
    Excelsior
    Arbiter
    Command Cruisers (x3)
    Odyssey (x3)
    Sovereign (x2)
    Paladin
    Sagittarius
    Chronos

    Now science
    Pathfinder
    Dauntless
    Scryer
    Nautilus
    Eternal

And keep in mind that this is the most favorable comparison science ships get. Add in KDF/ROM and what you do is simply multiply the cruisers by a factor of perhaps 2 while keeping the science list exactly the same.

I know this is a lot for that short post of yours, but of all the things to try and kick for the stupid hell of it, science ships is simply a bad choice. You could have made that same post about cruisers and it would have made the same point without being mean to the sad, neglected puppy of STO.

No, it doesn't. Your words mean whatever you want them too. Take the following opinion: "These ships are splungetastic!" Meaningless? Technically no, because there was something going through my mind when I said it. However, even with that minimum bar satisfied it's not a good idea trying to share that opinion (unjustified) with anyone else because there's absolutely nothing connecting that statement to anyone else's point of view. It's just how I feel.

Feel something different? Good for you, don't take what I have to say automatically to heart. But, you might want to start thinking about numbers (or logically consistent rule sets for a video game) when talking with other people. They can be quite useful demonstrations.

That's because all Starfleet vessels are science vessels (with the possible exception of the Defiant), just to different degrees. It's a future space NASA, what other ships would it have?

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

There are pure science vessels in Starfleet. It's even been described in cannon. The Nova class was described by Janeway as a short range science vessel. Just like in the game.

When Picard on the Enterprise D was hurled out of the galaxy by help of the traveler, they said it would be better for Starfleet to come back with a pure science vessel and do even more. Instead of keeping the Enterprise D in that galaxy.

By cannon appearance and tech manuals the only pure science vessels are Obert and Nova. The rest are cruisers, exploration vessels, deep space vessels, frigates etc.

I think only the Oberth was identified on screen as science vessel.

And the Defiant was really called an Escort in Deep Space Nine - with the understanding it was Starfleet's euphemism for Warship.

I think background sources usually identify ships as some kind of cruiser. Neither canon nor background material ever needed to worry how to make the ships fit into a game system.

Sorry to come in so late but the Galaxy was only ever described as a battleship (Yesterday's Enterprise).

And a bad resurrection at that.
Yesterday's Enterprise happened in an altered timeline where everything was militarized due to constant war where the Federation is losing.
