Mission: Bug hunt on Delta rising ps4

Every time I've tried to do this mission, I get through the caves come to the room where it cut scenes to the man, then when it goes back to normal game, everyone is invisible even the weapon fire and grenade explosions. I shoot where the red dot on the map is but I'm not inflictin any damage, yet when the red dot comes near me I get damage and die.

This is an impossible mission

I've tried logging off, changing instance, even restarting the ps4. All with the same outcome
