Yeah, VPvP is still around. Patrickngo, send me a mail in-game so we can set it up for your use. Tbh, I don't really understand the idea but hey, it sounds good to me.
I'm going to do this. Do I have this right? Show up at Kerrat on December 6th with a toon at level 10 (11 or 12 ok if kdf story arc screws it up). No gear, doffs, ec, or other goods from other toons. C-store ships okay. Exchange stuff okay if you earn it in PVP. Basically, everything you have is crafted or earned in battle, not wallet warriored or grinded across an account. Forget anything?
Also, I figured out why the hours seemed daunting. Arc quit counting mine over a year ago when I quit using it. I've logged way more hours than this will take.
Get some rest patrick and from what I am understand here in regards to my question. The KDF/Rom do episodes until they are clear of the lock for the first major promotion, then nothing but pvp. This works.
Created a klingon toon to do this name Gaalom. Did the tutorial picked up my bridge officer then headed over to Ker'rat. Went into the warzone, all I found was npcs. I then proceeded to the pvp qs, only to find them locked out. Are those locked out via level or via episode lock?
PvP queues unlock at either level 5, 10, 12 or 15, I know that's a very arbitrary set of numbers there but I haven't been able to play in some two months and I think I read somewhere that they changed it.
EDIT: If you click on your experience bar (default location is at the top of the screen) it opens a window that tells you what unlocks at each level.
OK.
I have been mentioning this to folks. I also may bring as many as four toons. I only have a KDF but I can probably do a Tac, Sci, and Eng UFP for people to shoot at that way we are not always having the exact same set of abilities.
Found this out threw playing the game, the rank bar did not display this information, the level is five. This being said when I got the pvp q to activate the screen for pvp qs kept saying waiting for server. Hopefully that was a one time glitch. Though I support the ops Idea, I beginning to think it may not be practical, but I have not given up yet.
Edit: Not a one time glitch I am still getting the waiting for srever on the pvp qs. I made sure that both the ground and space box were checked. Not sure how to proceed at this point.
I started using STO Nexus yesterday since the old combat parser has been giving me grief. I'm pretty impressed with the design, and it is free to download (I made a small donation). I'd like to suggest that those of you thinking about the Iron Man try it out. It has a built in parser, but I really think its social tools (forums, profiles, a directory and build sharing tools) could be useful to those of us trying to network and build a community. Put it this way, I made a suggestion for improvement and got a response in a public forum in less than 15 minutes. Try it out. Just google the name. Let me know what you think. I'll be there December 6 regardless. (P.S. If you would like to add me as fiend in Nexus my handle is stOverlord, yeah I know you wish you would have thought of that first.)

For awhile (five months!) I had trouble with just getting STO to run. I'm always nervous about adding third party stuff, but I might after some research.
Qapla!
Oh, fair warning. I don't know my availability on the 6th yet. I may only have a half hour that day ...
This sounds like it could be fun. I'm interested. Got a couple of big projects due the middle of next week, but after that... Good luck with this. I hope if nothing else, y'all can get a decent group to start showing up at 10-19, even if they aren't on board for the challenge. If folks can have fun at Lt. Commander shooting holes in one another, then everyone wins.
I don't really have a lot of hope for 50+ pvp, but I can see there being some potential for some minor league pew-pew.
Got here from a reply by supposedly patrickngo ( I had a feeling he was cannonshop on reddit xD)
TL;DR but something I've read; I should still be in the Vanilla PvP channel since I was in the first Vanilla match ( which was also my first pvp arena) and some more.
Anyway, is there a kind of event going on December 6? At what time? Is it restricted to Klingons only?
PvP market ? I am being kinda forced to resettle my schedule in order to play STO only until 22:00-23:00 CET because it seems that, after then almost EVERY queue dies and then after 22:00 move to another game whichbis pvp-based where there's always a queue , pvp or pve : how is that for pvp market ? Unless we want to believe that STO players are aliens with 6 fingers who don't like pvp ... STO players on PC, because on console pvp sounds quite popular . As for the event, I think I already have a lvl 10 sci fed char created for crafting purposes but gotta check. Anyway, how do you make sure people use stuff crafted and/or dropped without using alts' resources ? Gateway ? And what about stuff like SROs ? They were banned in Vanilla . By the way, this is just food for thought : I understand that now it's important to just sail the ship and worry about else later
This is a good question and it means I'm going to have to ask good questions back.
Time Zones?
I'm on Pacific Standard time (Like Cryptic Studios) and work a midnight shift (2230 to 0530) at Boeing, with a half-hour commute each way. Gives us two options:
Morning (0730 PST or 1000 EST), or an afternoon/evening time My-time.
Either time should be close enough for me. Biggest issue is real life stuff leading up the actual day is a bit busy, so I may only have two of the five I hoped for leveled to the range mentioned. Level 10-19 was it? I may need that buffer to make my Rommie capable of joining
Maybe we should use only one timezone ; we might pick up the PST since it's STO's timezone and we should be a little accustomed with it with patches and so on.
I should be game since around 830-900 a.m. PST

I really hope we do this.

Seems like the attention level is low, and I was thinking it would be much more active.
Anyway, I guess we eat this targ one bite at a time

Counting down.
