Romulan BOFFs with lead feet (moves very slow in maps)

slycereslycere Member Posts: 30 Arc User
For the past 2 days immediately after the last patch, Romulan Bridge Officers assigned in an away team cannot keep up the pace with the rest of the team when running. They move very slow, like they are constantly under combat, and thus often get separated in open maps like Kobali, Dyson and Nimbus. I have tried different combinations for an away team attempting to isolate the problem and these are my observations:
  • Only Romulan BOFFs are affected. In a team mix of one Romulan and three non-Romulans, only the Romulan travels slow.
  • I tried to fill all 4 slots with Romulans and found out that, in this configuration, only the Romulan BOFF slotted in the SECOND slot consistently travel slowly. Rearranging the BOFFs in different slots has no effect, whoever is slotted in the second slot moves slow. This is true for arrangements composed of 2 Romulans - 2 others and 3 Romulans - 1 other.

The character I tried this with is a Romulan. Unfortunately, my two other Fed characters do not have any Romulan BOFFs on them so I cannot test if this also affects Fed and AoY characters. Anyone else notice this? Any suggestions for a workaround (other than filling all slots with non-Romulan BOFFs) that may work? Thank you for any response.

I have the same Problem/Bug. And not only Romulan, but FED/ROM together. Only "Non-Human" or "Special-Boffs" still can run the same speed as the captain. So not ALL Boffs, but some. Since one of the last patches (i remember there was something with the running-speed of the bridge officers) this happen. I wonder that Cryptic does not realised this allready as a bug.

Edit: I have tested it out a little bit longer and i can say that these effects are only to see at the "original" Bridge-Officers, )(or "Veteran"-Boffs), that ones you become from game (like "Tarsi" or "T'Met" or "Elisa Flores", "Tovan" and so on). New Boffs or buying from my self, are still running as fast as i do. But all the original/veteran ones running just in the "slow mode" not the "fast run" (which you use with the Shift-Key). And how i sayed, this is not only at Romulan, but at all Factions. (Wanted to open a extra thread, but the system does not allow me)

I have also search when that change happen:
    > Release Notes: October 25th, 2016
    > General:
    > * Bridge Officers and NPCs which follow the player better match speed with player when player is walking slowly.

I think THAT change does make the errors now...

I have the same error and I did wrote a post about it:
    http://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/startrekonline#/discussion/1225280/bridge-officers-cant-run

In my case the boffs are a tellarite and a vulcan from 23C, my character is in fact AOY.
Please devs tell us that you are looking at this problem.

I've been having this problem as well on my Reman character. All my BOFF'S are the starters with two new ones including a romulan and reman and I really don't want to have to dump them because of a bug. This seriously needs to be dealt with. It's incredibly annoying and makes ground combat very difficult when you're the only one fighting because your team is still on the other side of the map. They also seem to get stuck more easily or stay back when in tight quarters combat. Maybe that's just me, but it's still incredibly annoying.

I created a new 23c toon and my entire first complement of Boffs is unable to run. They can only walk. Which means that on large, open ground maps I either have to wait till my crew makes it all the way to my position, or fight on my own.

All of my Boffs are 23rd century boffs.

Bugs like these should be first priority.

Maybe these are the lazy Romulans from the Staging Area that are always yawning and we have to admonish all the time. They certainly wouldn't have the energy to keep up. :)

This is also now an issue on PS4. Tarsi the Andorian 23c BOFF can't sprint.

Well.. When I got back from a break between the summer event and the winter event I thought the BOFFs were chasing me a lot slower. Guess I haven't been imagining things lol

I figure I would bump this thread up since this post was from November 2016 and the problem has not been fixed yet.

All my Romulan and Reman Boff are still not running. Even new ones purchased from the Exchange or from mission rewards.

This is another bump to this thread as there has been no change in BOFF behavior on ground as stated in the OP almost 5 months since first reported. Any updates on this bug is highly appreciated.
