Killing the CE

fovrelfovrel Member Posts: 1,448 Arc User
CE is coming soon and I thought of ways of destroying it while not harming or attacking it. The place is spharming with Tholian and Terran ships, What about hitting the CE with a gravity well that doesn't do much damage but sucks all ships into it. Then attack and destroy those ships so their warp core breaches damage the Entity. Could it work?

not nearly enough ships... and why, also grav well does damage. actuallly it is one of the majour damaging powers.

if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.

Considering how easy it is to destroy it, even on Advanced, the simpler solution is to do nothing to it and just focus on the ships, while the rest of the team trashes it, of course.

While there are some "indirect" ways to damage it, they're both impractical and barely damaging.

I think you'll find that people don't have a problem destroying the CE. The problem is really that someone might kill the CE so quickly that you're not able to deal enough damage to get credit for running the event

I think i still have the gear for a Trico torpedo bomber on one of my characters. Time to update it and put it to use, combined with space magic off course.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

This. Did a CEA yesterday and, I kid you not, took exactly 9 seconds to kill the Entity. I was lucky enough to get credit but even still. I miss the before time when content was actually challenging and you actually had to work together to succeed.

I do think the original poster was asking about other possibilities to kill it for added fun (maybe in a dedicated group). I doubt he uttered difficulties in doing it the old-fashioned way.

Mega-power GWs could suck the fleet into it so that the fleet dies when the CE explodes I guess.

GW + scramble sensors so the Tholians attack the CE and each other? Also kinetic magnet on the tholians if your team has intel.

Stack lots of control consoles instead of partigen so the GW has maximized pull, minimized damage.

    1) Take face
    2) Position keyboard
    3) 'Apply' * face to the specific part of the keyboard known as 'spacebar'

    * Also known as 'smash', but then you should replace 'to' with 'on'. Just a minor detail though.

Try a different map. Like Elite Battle of Procyon V. That will:

    1- Take Longer
    2- Be more challenging
    3- Require teamwork

Of course it's more effective to use some other abilities as well, but even if you only use the manual I've given above, you should still be fine.

As long as not everyone decides to apply that of course, cause then everything will take much longer then necessary. But I am not suffering from the illusion that mine or anyone else's writings on here would ever reach such a large public that the total playerbase is :p

    Edut: snoggymack22... I wasn't done yet. Tsk. :p

Indeed, that is the idea behind my post. I know it kan be killed almost in a instant. Instead of doing more damage and killing it faster, I think of using different methods. If you can damage it and destroy it by warp core breaches of NPC ships and at the same time not target it, the effect of the blast wave is also minimal.

It can only work in a premade group of course.

Can I suggest a new name for that bomber @questerius ?

    Or maybe...

I considered renaming the ship " USS Boom Boom (Stick)" but i decided to let the explosions speak for themselves.
Last time i used that torpedo bomber i wiped out the rest of the team together with the CE. Gotta love trico for that one.

Even if the ships warp cores don't do it on their own, torpedo spread abilities will do extra damage to CE if there's all those targets at its core, and it makes it more difficult to launch fragments. Win-win-win for science magic.

I wish the devs would turn back the clock for the great tricobolt nerf for just one weekend, heck one day.

Well, any spread should benefit from such tight clustering, but the ones that leave special area effects certainly benefit more Particle emission plasma torp clouds should be fun too.
