Strange Program Box Around My Ship

Since new patch when I'm playing The Battle of Procyn V. I've discovered a strange box in-game. Not sure if it's a graphics issue or not but, when I start doing damage this box goes on my ship and then the performance of my ship goes down? Is this a code generated in-game or a bug?
