(ps4 player. Two 50+ captains)
First of all is there any advice on how to use ships that use 45-90 degree arc weapons in the forward slots? How do you mitigate damage. When im using my beam boats Im always turned sideways firing broadsides and my shieds can take a pounding but I can just pull a 180 or usually stuff stops shooting at me after awhile and I just get my shields back. But when you can only fire forward what are your options? I know about bridge officer abilities, and transferring shields. Maybe I just have resistant armor and am higher level on my other captains and thats why they are tougher...
When your under 50 and goto the pve qeue why does Federation get space battles and Romulan-Klingon get ground?? Is there anyhwere I can go as a Romulan-Klingon to do some random battles to get XP? Was trying to take advantage of the XP weekend.
Is going to a ship selector the ONLY way to switch between your different ships/shuttles?? No way to do it on Sector map?
My Lv50+ Klingon Captain almost has all tier 2 reps unlocked. Whenever I do The Romulan rep activies tho even tho im tier 2 i am still getting unlabeled boxes. All my other boxes I get for doing activities say Tier 2 if thats unlocked. So are Romulan boxes broken and stuck on tier 0/1??
How mandatory is it to dump 27 SP into a tree to unlock the specials at the end?? Anyone not use ANY of them??

The Romulan rep boxes have been around since 2013. They tend reward the same things at every tier. So there's no real worry about it being labeled.
As far as the use of 45/90 firing arcs. You'll want to get a RCS console to improve turn rate, if you're using something other than an escort/BoP/Raptor style ship. Damage mitigation is to remember to keep power flowing to that shield facing. Which can be done by clicking that shield facing or with Tactical Team. Also the faster your speed, the faster you turn. Slowing down is good for continuous damage. But it also opens you up to the same. The primary tactic with 45/90 is strafing. This way damage is mitigated over multiple shield facings. This part really depends on what ship you're using.
As far as switching between ships and shuttles. you should be able to switch between ship and shuttle on your bridge. As far as switching them out in general, yes, going to the ship selection officer is the only way.
Hmm for queues. I'm not really sure here. YOu should have pretty much the same queues across the board. On this make sure that all types of maps are selected. could just be a bug that causes them to uncheck in the queue and not show. But you should have Gorn Minefield, Starbase, Breaking the Planet, Big Dig, and such on all chars.
I don't use the skill tree ultimates. It requires to many point in a skill tree to get them. I tend to do more balance builds, putting a bit more emphasis on survival. While they are helpful, they are not needed.
