Xbox - Beam graphic missing from particular setup/ability

I am flying a Scorpion Fighter (in The Vault story mission, Romulan), using the Plasma Dual Cannons Standard Issue-S that came with it, along with a Plasma Beam Array Standard Issue-S that came with the shuttle that the story forces you to acquire as a Romulan. I have my Tactical bridge officer seated, with Beam: Fire At Will I as his ability.
When I use that ability to fire my beam at enemies, the beam graphic does not display, whether I am firing at a single ship or multiple ships. When I am firing without FAW in effect, it appears as it should. In both cases, the damage occurs as it should, I just don't see the beams when I am using FAW.
The "barrel glow" effect still displays (the circular graphic that would appear at the end of a barrel, but simply appears on the shuttle, since it's so small), and the sound plays, but the beams are absent.
I'm not sure what part(s) of this combination of ship/equipment would be required to reproduce this, but... yeah.
