You can get some descent loot to sell off by going to the Undine Battlezone in Solanae Dyson space. You can also get some nice EC by doing the Tour of the Galaxy mission and by doing Admiralty missions.

EC deppending on your level you can get almost 500K on a mission called Tour Of The Galaxy once a day, also the patrol missions around New Romulus give a lot of stuff
Well, if you want to go the route of shooting people, taking their stuff and sell that stuff, you could do Argala over and over. Just warp out before doing the last group to prevent cooldown.
go to Delta quadrant and do the patrol of Argala system (just like qjunior sayd) but check if the enemy's are Kazon and kill them all but not the final boss... get out and do it again ^^

Well, you can do queues and save up the normal r&d boxes you get and sell them on exchange sometimes they will sell for 50k or even 70k so basically people will buy those. also some admiralty missions give ec so do those. Then also sell keys, which would give you like 5mil or six mil depending on how much they are selling for at the time. Those sell pretty fast sometimes.
Argala makes a decent farm... around 150k ec per run
I have a foundry mission that also does ok as a farm "Tal Shiar Turkey Shoot" its not one where you can sit and watch chain explosions so you actually have to think and fight, thus it still works for makin ec.
really need to update it so the start is new romulus system instead of that hook on the ground(wasn't an option when I wrote it)
Clearly, I made a mistake and should have stated that it "CAN be" a very slow prospect to keep the trolls at bay. Farming Argala should be considered drudge work. It puts me to sleep, and I can zip through advanced as quickly as the ships spawn.
You can also buy Fleet ship modules for the zen you get from your dil and sell them for 3x the price of a key, but they cost 4x as much zen unless there is a sale.
those of you mentioning R&D, DOFF and fleet stuff, have you ever stopped to think that the OP might be on console and has no access to those yet?

since the vendor loot nerf it is a waste of time to acquire vendor trash to sell. The value is only 1/3 or 1/4 of what it was.
Remember when getting a purple deflector or space shield was exciting because it was worth 100,000. Now 15,000.
I guess people still make crafting stuff to sell but even that is beyond my patience at this point.
Wait until the key ring thing is gone then just sell keys. The entire economy revolves around keys so might as well use it.

KDF faction has a daily called Tour the Galaxy. You pick it up from a Naussican on Q'onos in the bar. Easy EC...25k EC per system visited. The faster your ship, the more EC you make. Would be shocked to learn that the Federation doesn't have an equivalent daily mission.
EC deppending on your level you can get almost 500K on a mission called Tour Of The Galaxy once a day, also the patrol missions around New Romulus give a lot of stuff
If you decided to go this route, there are threads with info for this.
Personally, I still cannot complete all of the maps, but completing just the Beta Quadrant offers more than half a million. That's a lot for a 15 minute warp flight. Done every day it adds up.
Anyone here saying that farming for drops is not "worth it" is just being ridiculous.
Think about it, where exactly do you think all those Energy Credits made on the exchange come from? You think those Energy credits were attained from just Tour the Galaxy and the Admiralty system alone? Yeah, NO.
People like me, who go and spend endless hours, more hours a day than most spend in a whole week, playing this game, farming for drops, making many many many millions a week, dumping it into the exchange for....pretty much anything I want, dumping that money into the system.
People like me are the reason people ask insane amounts of Energy Credits for the new shiney ships. That EC has to come from somewhere, and it comes from people like me.
Most people trade items for Energy Credits. People like me however, we MAKE the Energy Credits.

Improved Beam Upgrade thingies sell quite well.
Undine ships tend to drop a fair bit of decent loot to sell off.

Farm dil - trade for zen - buy lockbox keys - sell keys on the exchange. Farming ec via drops is a very slow prospect.
What do you mean by "a bomb"?

hardly a waste, you just make less, and you can thank the chain detonation ec farmer missions for that change

Tour the Galxay: How much EC?
Tour The Galaxy ?
And then there's THIS ONE.
